8.1S Horizons loss of power underway and recovers

While underway my tachs on both engines will drop from cruise ( 3600) to zero and back up to cruise. The boat 07 40 Dancer will lose power and regain , sometimes the alarm sound others it does not .
It may do this once and be fine the rest of the trip , sometime 2 or 3 times then fine . I’ve changed the water pumps and the engines are running great. Hmmm

So both engines at once at the same time? Think through common systems that both engines share. Do you have separate fuel tanks, a common tank, and if common single fuel pick up? What is common on the electrical side- ground system?
 
The common denominator is the SeaTalk communications , which I suspect my b the issue .
 
Yes the engines lose power momentarily and regain again without any input by the operator.
 
The main thing in common is the common. Ground. Start at the batteries, and check every lead. Make sure all is tight. Are you in flat water, or might it be connected with boat wake or seas?
 
Sounds like the ECM is losing engine data and dropping to guardian/limp mode and when data come back recovers.

Could just be a loose harness connection somewhere.
