DIRECTV hook up for my 2005 SeaRay 420

Hi, have any of you had experience installing a DIRECTV box in your 420. I am looking for a splitter or somewhere to connect the box for the main salon drop down TV. Location would be great. I haven’t found it yet.

Hey @Punkpilot - I have the exact same boat as you. The splitter is located behind the AC/DC fuse panel right next to the stairs and above the triangle shaped storage compartment. If you remove the glass door from the fuse panel there are two Phillips head screws than that are at the top of the fuse panel. If you take those both out The entire panel will swing forward and down giving you access to the area behind it where the splitter is located.

Thank you! You are correct that’s the spot. I was going to replace all the TV’s myself and then Realized I needed to run an HDMI cable to each one of them. Time for the pros $$$

You can run cat6 to your TVs & use these or something similar:

That's how they ran a bunch if TV's at a few of our locations with the sat boxes in one central location. One note, these require 120 VAC power. The cheaper ones need it at both ends. The more expensive ones (~$150) use it at the proximal end & send power through the cat6 to the receiving end.
In my boat ('97 330 DA) I ran a coax to the cockpit & split the signal out of the controller sat box (mine is NOT HD). This way the cockpit & master bed shared a box. I then ran a line into a signal destacker (my box received a stacked signal, home receivers are unstacked) and ran a coax over to the cable outlet for my mid cabin. I use a home receiver there. Running the lines was pretty easy. Good luck!

We use Balun's in our house for years. Been pretty solid, worked well. Not sure about the brand we use.

I have a coax encoder that will take the HDMI output and put it on a TV channel. You then hook up the output to the coax. If all the TV s have receivers you can just hook up the coax and tune to a channel and watch.

I ran HDMI and 12v to each TV as a DIY project. The easiest was the rear stateroom and the hardest was the master stateroom.
