I have been seeing the pricing rise on the 420/44 for a year now. These are both freshwater but $324k?...even $284k seems high.. what do you think?

I think those are priced in the market. My instinct and of course I am biased, is to buy a 460. It’s a bigger boat both beam and length.

Those could be “fishing” for a buyer type asking prices.
They’re only worth what someone is willing to pay for them.
Actual sale prices are a better indicator of value.

In my area boat prices are wacked right now. They are all over the place and significant discounts from asking are hard to come by.

I would check listing prices on Yachtworld and boattrader. Would provide a broader market valuation.

Also, check MarineMax used boats. That is a large concentration of Sea Rays.

Not suggesting you buy remote boats, but will give you a wider feel for where the market is on that model.

No I was looking at it if I sold.. It would seem in our case the boat was a good investment.. compared to what I paid for it 4 years ago.

Have you tracked the boats that are selling what they were listed for when they sold?

I have been watching the 52DB and 58DB listings, seems like the ones that are actually selling are the ones priced in the middle of the price range not at the top or bottom.

I saw the same as we searched out our 44DA, we made an offer on a high priced boat that was local to us, but at the value of the mid range. They refused but as far as I know ended up close to what we offered three months later.

We also had a lower end priced boat "condition" appraised in Florida that we passed on because there was a definite reason it was priced lower!

We made several calls on another high priced (30k more than similar boats) boat in NJ but the owner wouldn't commit to a showing time even though he knew we were doing a three day trip through NY/NJ specifically to look at 42/44DA's - in the end I think he was looking to see if he could get a mint but not really interested in selling.

I would love to sell for close to what we paid but know/knew that won't happen.

We accepted an offer of $285,000 in May for our 06 44DB with less than 400 hours on it. I really thought it was worth north of $300,000 but the few comps that were reported really did support the $280,000 neighborhood. Lucky for us the buyers got cold feet and we are happy to have our boat. There was a $290,000 backup offer sight unseen but we had already decided if the deal we had fell through we would cancel the listing.
