I went out yesterday and the Searay monitor system started freaking out. I don't think there is a mechanical problem, because all my gauges and Vessel View reading were correct. The monitor (black square LED) was blinking real fast with a bunch of codes and beeping. Like Port trans overheat, Starboard engine overheat, FWD bilge , Rear bilge. They were flashing so fast random I could hardly read it. It also happens in gear and starts around 2500rpm. If I slow down or put it in N it stops. Where could I even start looking. I'm going on a trip Thursday and would like to fix this. Thanks

The monitor is connected to the helm from the engine compartment via a coax. Perhaps the connections need a little cleaning. I have attached some documents that I have accumulated over time regarding this system. Perhaps these will help.

Check the coax behind it. Mine got loose after a few years

I checked the COAX first. It seemed tight behind the panel. When I checked the engine compartment I loosened it by hand. I'm a network engineer for my company and make cable fittings. This one didn't look good, so who knows. I'm gonna replace them both. What is the breaker labeled? I couldn't find it. Is it in the engine comp panel?

Anyone know where the breaker is for it? What's it labeled?

it should be a 5 amp circuit breaker in your main DC circuit breaker panel labeled Systems Monitor.
In my 400DA it was in the back of the cockpit where the battery disconnects are located.

I found the breaker, but it's not the on off kind. Just the one that pops with the plastic cover. I ended up replacing the connector in the engine comp and so far it looks like that worked. I'm not getting any alarms anymore. Well see what happens on a longer ride. Going about 26 miles tomorrow. Thanks all..

Good luck!

Well I just got back for my weekend trip and the alarm Came Back. It just keeps beeping and flickering with all different types of alarms. What's the next step? All connections look clean and tight. Will this shut down the motors if it sees a problem?

Did you ever get it to quit acting up? My systems monitor randomly triggers the audible alarm but displays “all systems normal” and never displays an alarm message. I was going to start with the coax…

I have a similar random alarm inside the dash on our 2003 390 MY with 480C Cummins. Systems Monitor shows "All Systems OK". Analog gauges for oil pressure and temp show good operating levels. Ours has the Sea Ray Navigator and I'm convinced it is triggering the random alarm. We were cruising yesterday at 2100 RPM (normal cruise speed) in 50-60 ft of depth on Lake Michigan and got a depth warning on the SR Navigator display. Came off cruise to neutral and the display warning cleared and depth showed 50 ft. Alarm followed this event, but system monitor showed all systems ok. Powered down SR Navigator and alarm was still on. Powered off engines and key switches and alarm shut off. Restarted and cruised for another 45 minutes to our Marina slip and no alarm. I'm going to check connections on the SR Navigator.

The SR Navigator is a completely separate system from the SR Systems Monitor; they are not related nor electrically connected in any way.
In fact, as an edit, the SR Systems Monitor is not related to any of the navigational or engine operational systems.

I know Kevin posted the schematic and troubleshooting pics long ago but anyone know where the originals are? I would like to print them out for reference but the attachments don't print out. Very helpful info there.

Replaced the RF connectors and problems went away. Looks like a TV cable connection.

Ok, thanks mnm99. I’ll replace those connectors and hopefully that will do the trick.

Had that problem after I replaced it with a newer version of the system monitor. Found the original version on eBay and the issue went away.
