2000 sea ray 230 mystery dial

on the instrument panel l have a dial in the far right side past all the rocker switches.. l have no idea what that is or if it is even original to the boat. Any one know what that is?? Thanks
 
A dimmer switch.....l never thought of that but sounds possible. Here is a pic of what I’m seeing

I have a ‘99 230. Yes, it is a dimmer switch or a rheostat which controls the intensity of the gauge lighting.

Nice boat by the way. I’ve owned mine since new.

Hey thanks for the help!! I just got the boat a day ago. Hopefully we’ll hit the water this weekend..

You are welcome and enjoy. In case you didn’t know, there is also a mystery/secret console storage compartment which is accessed behind the port side bow seat back cushion. You should see a hinge attached (in front of the left hand windshield) on the upper section of the seat back. If it’s there, simply pull up on the bottom of the cushion and it should open. Don’t ask me how long it took me to find it.
 
Yep a dimmer. I thought mine didn't do anything until I figured out that you have to turn in counter-clockwise to brighten the lights. How lame is that?
