I tried a new vinyl cleaner today and thought I’d share the results. It’s called Vinyl Sauce.

When I first used it I didn’t think I’d like it. It cleaned fine, in fact it did a good job of cleaning the white vinyl, but it seemed to leave a tacky feel to the vinyl. I let it sit for a minute after I wiped it off and the tacky feeling went away.

So here’s what the vinyl looked like before I attacked it with the Vinyl Sauce…

And here’s what it looked like after I was done. It didn’t take a lot of rubbing, just a minute or so.

The pictures don't do justice to the job it did because of the angle of the sun and the shade we're in, but it did better than these photos show.

All things considered I was pretty impressed with the job it did.

The usual disclaimers apply.

Thank you for sharing you experience.

Where did you buy it? is this a West Marine item or an order through amazon?

dvx216, I do not believe it does. They sell a companion product called Condition Sauce that has UV protectant in it. They (boatbling) recommend applying it once a month. I also tried the Vinyl Sauce and I didn't find it as effective as some others I have used, and brother, I have used a bunch. I could do a whole YouTube channel about all the boat cleaner stuff I have tried. Wait...that's actually not a bad Idea.
But I digress...
I got mine from Amazon. It doesn't suck, and for surface dirt and light Markings it does okay. It smells good, and it is biodegradable. I did not have to use a respirator to use it and it wipes clean. I was not able to get the Condition Sauce in a timely manner (it was a 2 week wait) so I have not tried it. I used the old standby 303 protectant after using the Vinyl sauce with no ill effects, so they seem to be compatible.
TL;DR:
Vinyl Sauce works well enough on surface dirt and light staining. For ground in dirt or heavy mildew, reach for something else. But for quick cleaning after a couple of days on the water this is a pretty good choice. Cannot Speak to the Condition Sauce yet, it's on order.
The Vinyl Sauce is 20 bucks, and the Condition Sauce is 24 bucks for 32 oz. bottles.
And they are Prime eligible.

Sorry to Hijack. GoFirstClass just happened to hit upon one of my favorite subjects.
He's a good guy and I don't want to piss him off.

Jester, thanks for all that information. I got my bottle when a rep gave a short presentation of all their products at the yacht club a few months ago. I just finally got around to using it.

I've used 303 for years and always been happy with it. This was just a chance to use something new and different that I hadn't seen before.

I’ve been using it for 2 years. Great stuff! Check out their Hot Sauce as well. It makes everything shine and has UV protectant

Oh, I agree, it wasn't bad, just not very aggressive, which can be a very good thing when it comes to Vinyl. Depends on how dirty and mildewed your vinyl be. I try very hard NOT to use the cannon when the pistol will do. in all the years of boat and car ownership I have learned that Vinyl is tough, but you can mess it up quick.

I have not tried the Hot Sauce, it is on the list however.

The next item on my short list is Stainless/Aluminium/metal polish. I have 3 to try. My spotlight is seriously ganked up, and my bow rail and hinges and stuff need polishing.
I'll let you know how we do.

OH,AND....currently I'm playing with several of the "Quick Detailer" Sprays. I think I have 4 of those.
It's really all on going. I'm all for saving some time and effort.
So far the Meguires Flagship (One of the only quick detailer's labeled for boats) is not what I expected. Doesn't enhance the shine, doesn't clean very well, and there is no extra beading. Plus, on black Gelcoat, it streaks and leaves marks, even after going back and buffing.
I might do that Youtube thing after all.
There are other guys out there doing it, but not for boats. It's like trying to find Powerboat videos.....But that's another post.

If you looked at all9& the cleaning and detailing products on the shelves in my garage you would probably suggest some kind of 12 step program.
For cleaning the vinyl on the boat, and lots of other all purpose cleaning needs for that matter, I’ve found the LA’s Totally Awesome Cleaner works as well or better than most other products I’ve tried over the years.
They sell it in Home Depot now.
I’m still a believer in 303 Protectant and apply it after cleaning the vinyl.

I also am a 12-step candidate when it comes to cleaning products! :).

Always “on the hunt,” googled that LA’s Totally Awesome Cleaner and was shocked to see 24 qty of 20oz bottles available with free shipping to your local Dollar Tree store:
https://www.dollartree.com/las-totally-awesome-all-purpose-cleaner-20oz/152664

Thinking that was a misprint, I looked further down the page and Dollar General also has the 20oz bottles for $1 (and 64oz bottles for $3-4); Home Depot has gallon jugs for $7 so, THAT STUFF SURE APPEARS TO BE ECONOMICAL!!!!!

And, of course, +1 on the 303 Vinyl UV Protectant.

OP, I’ve not used the BOAT BLING Vinyl Sauce or Condition Sauce yet; however; as Phasma mentions, the Boat Bling HOT SAUCE is THE Schizzit for detailing and ESPECIALLY FOR PREVENTING (and removing many types of) WATER SPOTS!

Great thread!

What are recommending for stains that appear to be like ink stains? In other words kind of "painted" in to the vinyl. Like a colored towel that bled in to the vinyl.

I've not been into special vinyl cleaning products after trying a few when I was new into boating. Eventually discovered that regular boat washing including a wipe down of the vinyl with a chamois that was just damp with rinse water did the trick. Very occasionally, I would resort to 409. Less frequently, I would use a very small amount of Soft'n Scrub with bleach for a tough satin. And, I've even worked on a small very tough stainwith a Magic Eraser. I do think 303 is a great product and would start the season with a good cleaning followed by 303. That is all I've done for the past two boats which have always looked great. Another thing we have done with our boats is not allowed greasy lotions and red wine onboard. The oz. of prevention thingy.....

LA’s Totally Awesome Cleaner removed a fresh ink stain for me a few weeks ago. Haven’t had the need to try it on an ink stain that has sat for a while but it did take out other long term stains for me when I first got this boat so I would give it a shot.

Be very careful with Magic Eraser on vinyl. They’re abrasive. I wouldn’t use one on my vinyl but if you ever feel the need to do so just beware that you could damage the vinyl very easily with them.

Does a great job on wheel wells, light interior stains and rubber mats when used with good brushes.
I also use it to clean light brake dust off the barrels of the wheels. Much more cost effective than brake dust cleaner or the all purpose cleaners some of the detailing suppliers sell.
It’s pretty much replaced Adam’s APC for me.
