The end of last season It was obvious my port motor had a rough idle and a miss. The first shop that I asked to see what was wrong found low compression in #5 cylinder.To the tune of $180 but they wouldn't tell me what was causing the low compression. This shop recommend pulling the motor and doing a complete rebuild with an open ended quote in the ballpark around 4k with indoor storage. At first this sounded pretty good but then they came back with another price of 6k with no warranty when it was all said a done. After talking to and friend who lived and owned a canvas business in the area and he recommended two other shops. I went with All Set Marine to perform another compression test who told me that #5 had a intake valve leak and recommended replacing the heads.In the end If you are looking for a mechanic in the Catawba Island I would recommend All Set Marine. I don't feel it's right to bash the other shop in open forum but Pm me and I'll tell you
