i just put a new motor in my boat, 4.3 EFI and now the dash is dead, i checked all the fuses behind the console and the pack on top of the motor, all are good. i have good grounds to the fus bars in the rear and behind the dash. obviously i misses a plug but i am lost as to which plug i missed. anyone have some ideas?

ohm btw, the gauge pod has the 4 gauges in 1 4" pod, oil, fuel, trim and temp- dead
then the tach gauge has the mode button, all that is dead as well

Do you have 12volts from the key switch to the gauges? Key in the on position ! Because it might just be a common Ground

yeah, well gettting to the back of th key switch ha been very difficult and based on the circumstances, i really think its a plug or something to do with the back of the boat, engine area but i will check it

SO,i did further digging and found that the gauges are part of the smartcraft system. now i am ceertain their is something unplugged. also ,all the sensor readings are working on the scantool.rinda

Which Sundeck model? Your sig doesn't mention it.

You put an EFI motor into a boat that was originally equipped for an MPI? That could be the issue right there. Totally different engine computers being used.

Other than that, look for a tripped breaker back in the engine compartment. It won't be too far from the battery. Small, black, square box with a little arm that swings out when tripped. Push/slide it back in.

Double check all of your battery connections.

This spring, There was a small ground wire that I forgot to connect to the battery when installing them. I had similar symptoms.

I kept thinking that i didn’t have power to the gauges. In fact I did, it was the ground that was missing.
