If you can wait, then let me see how it goes in the beginning of May before purchasing your SIMRAD setup. At least I will be able to tell you which features are working and the ones you should forget.

About sound system, I have the premium Rockford Fostgate with the boat including 6 speakers and a sub in the cockpit. To be honest I haven't use the boat enough to answer you (1 time) but I think I will have the same problem.

What can be done is something like this :

Or in the middle of this video :

I think those are Kickers enclosure ( https://www.kicker.com/marine-enclosures )but don't know if those are 4 inches or 6.5. That is the best solution but routing the wires to the bow through the cabin ceiling could be a challenge. Perhaps my next upgrade since I will most likely have the same issue. But I will have to put them on the bow rail instead. I wonder if the wires could go inside the rail...

From what I am reading there is 2 choices :

1. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LQY9NX8/ref=psdc_10980771_t4_B07G72H1T1
standard 4 inch coax. Scroll to the comments you will see some install photos, looks great and Kickers is a good brand overall, small but enough for the bow area, can be managed through the audio system on the boat (remote on the bow ?)

2. https://www.amazon.com/SDX-Pro-Audio-Bluetooth-Rechargeable/dp/B07G72H1T1
the easy way, but there is 2 drawbacks, 1 you have to charge them, 2 they can't be a part of your audio system, the source will either be your phone or any Bluetooth device, I don't know this brand at all, 6.5 speakers are big… too big for bow speakers I think, no drilling or wires to deal with...

3. https://www.fusionentertainment.com/marine/products/stereo-units/ws-sa150b
I know I said 2 choices but this one is pretty interesting as well, made to be on the bow, floats, last for 20h, not only a boat oriented device… this speaker have solid arguments and would probably be my choice.
Add it the rail mount kit and I think it can't be matched https://www.fusionentertainment.com/marine/products/accessories/ws-blzrmk/support/downloads

Ahh, well the good news for me is that I have 2 stock motorcycle speakers on the sunpad rails already that run to a 100w 2 channel amp but it's completely separate from the stereo system and is meant to run off of an ipod. It's obsolete so I think I can just replace the speakers and connect the wiring to a larger amp that feeds the main head unit (current main amp is only 4 channel so will likely have to upgrade to 6 channel).

But if your wife or children are on the bow and can't change the track, volume etc... they will ask you to do it from the cockpit all the time. You will probably have to put a remote on the bow, to avoid this.

Definitely a problem; however I'm assuming they can adjust with iphone since 99% of the time we are using Spotify. Though I'm not sure if you can adjust the volume through your phone.

It is starting to looks good.

Outstanding job from Tecnografic (CSR Partner) :

That looks sharp! I assume Tecnographic is local?

Nope they are in Florida, I just sent them all the material to be sure everything fits perfectly ;)

I finally received all my stuff and I can't even tell you how satisfied I am from the work done by Tecnografic. They delivered in time as promised, they delivered quality (even more than what I expected), they delivered for the price they gave me in the beginning. I can't wait to put everything on the boat next week.

I just wanted to share with you how outstanding Tecnografic people are from Samuel Sladon who have been extremely patient with me, and all the staff working behind.

Here are some pictures :

Here is the final result :

Thanks Chris, just for you to know, everything works as it should be. On the right display every alarm or informations is showing up from Smartcraft network. I am able to send the auto routing route from the screen on the left to the precision pilot, that was my main concern and it works.

I tried to enable the Generator in the VesselView but I think the genny isn't plugged on the network. I would have hoped it was but I suppose it takes some sort of interface from Kohler to the NMEA2K network.

The only drawback is the GPS antenna. No matter what I've tried, there is no way for the 2 SIMRAD to see the Mercury GPS Antenna, instead they use their own built-in antenna. Since it isn't really accurate, I will add a SIMRAD GS25 on the arch. I hope I will not have interferences.

Fusion Apollo works as it should, now on the wifi via airplay instead of Bluetooth (much more reliable).

I have some troubles with Active Trim, it disable when I am trimming manually but doesn't re engage. I am not seeing the trim moving even when it is on...

Bottom line, except for a couple of things, everything is ok ;).

Hey Chris, I was also thinking about your speaker problem on the bow, and I found the perfect solution for me.

Fusion Stereo Active : https://www.fusionentertainment.com/marine/products/stereo-units/ws-sa150w
+
Fusion Active Safe : https://www.fusionentertainment.com/marine/products/accessories/ws-dk150w
+
Fusion Puck Railmount Kit : https://www.fusionentertainment.com/marine/products/accessories/ws-blzrmk

With this you will have somewhere to store the phone, no wires at all, peoples on the bow are able to control the stereo themselves, able to use it at home during winter, very decent sound quality, able to throw the whole kit in the water and... it floats, if you have a fusion stereo in the boat, you will be able to control the stereo active with your remote.

Short long story, I tried and even when planning you can keep the speaker on the bow, when leaving, just put it in the cabin, it takes a couple of seconds to lock it or unlock it.

Just an idea less painfull than wires and speakers ;).

Exoset nice work,I also used Technografic for my last project.

Just got a 2009 330DA with Axius premier and wanted to to do it again. I also wanted to use Garmin as I have a way to get it at a better price and I'm familiar with it but still can't find the answer to if its going to integrate properly or not. Spoke with Garmin and they are looking into it as they couldn't find the answer either.

Hi Rob,

I had the same questions back then when I sold my Chaparral to buy my 310. I could have kept my Garmin 7612 since the dealer wasn't giving me more for it in the Chap.

After reading and talking to a lot of people, I went with SIMRAD for compatibility purpose. What I can tell you is that everything work really well between Merc eco system and Simrad, I haven't lost even one feature. I am really not sur about Garmin as they are closer of Yamaha and Volvo than Merc.

Let us know if you take he Garmin road anyway, I am really interested to know if you will be able to get back all the features, Garmin told me a year ago that they didn't know (pretty much the same answer they gave you :p).

Exoset, it’s been a year. Wow! How’s everything working? Hope well.

hi all, thanks for sharing as your new instruments panels look awesome. I'm also going down the upgrade path and looking at Garmin. I have Axius and wanted to make sure I can still maintain the functionality with Garmin. Any feedback on using Garmin? By the way, I have already installed the VV403.

Finally doing the upgrade! Got 2 NSS9 EVO3, Structurescan thru hull tranducer, just ordered VESSEL VIEW LINK MULTI and still trying to source a Structurescan 3D module. I have Tecnograghic making new dash panels.

Exoset, I can't believe its been another year wow! Well I'm in the process of installing all my gear. I had one question that seems to be impossible to find the answer online. Since I'm not using the vesselview screen anymore the analog gauges don't work, I believe they are called link gauges. Actually I'm not finished with install so I don't know for sure if they work or not but it seems that they are not connected to anything. I have read that the gauges are getting info from the vesselview screen. All the gauges have 3 wires and in the harness where VesselView plugged in there are 2 plugs for the gauges that were not being used. I'm sure there is a wire harness that plugs into J-box to make these work?
I read somewhere that other have just left the Vesselview screen installed or buried behind dash but just before I started the install it seem my VV screen died and gauges did not work.
