Fire at Custom Marine Carpet

After much research and planning, the Admiral and I finally agree on carpet replacement for our Sundancer 300. I call Custom Marine Carpet/snapincarpet.com to order and got some troubling news. They experienced a fire in their workshop and the computers that hold the patterns and the automatic cutting machine were damaged causing them to lose use of that equipment. They are still able to produce carpets but lead time is now out 8 weeks. They have graciously offered a $50 discount due to any inconvenience (extended lead time, mailing of old carpets/templates) and are trying to service their customers. I feel bad for them as it is their busy season. I'm also so disappointed that my carpets aren't in the mail on their way to me. I hope they are able to recover soon

Yikes. I hope they had a good off-site backup for their patterns.

Seriously....please tell me they backed up their computer offsite....That's not even funny...Very sad, and esp. sad if they didn't backup their computer when 4TB external drives are $100.

Hopefully they get back on track soon. They are one of the best vendors I've ever dealt with, not just when it comes to boating, but all around.

Terrible news....hope they can recover quickly.

The sales guy told me that the IT guys are 'working on it'. So that doesn't sound real promising. I hope they are insured.
