just noticed an oil drip coming from the oil hose that goes from the oil filter adapter to the bottom of engine. The other hose goes to the oil cooler.
Is this something that is common?

In the cut sheet to order the part, it looks like it would be #6 because of location (which hub it threads into. But where it goes, would be #20

I will as a couple pics in a few minutes

Just looking for info and experience, it's on my port engine, thank goodness, much easier to get to

In the large pic, the one to the left or that goes toward the bottom of the pic is the one leaking. You can see some oil residue on the blue spark plug wires underneath

The parts pic from the previous post looks to have the hoses in the wrong location compared to what I have.

Thank you!

The parts diagram is not exactly your application. It's using the other side of the spin on bracket. See the arrow on your spin on bracket? That is the inlet, coming from the oil pan, as it should. The outlet is going to the oil cooler. What exactly is leaking? Looks like the fitting. I'd try tightening those up first. 2 wrenches. one to hold whatever you are threading into.

A leak like that is rare. It's only found on older boats with oil hoses and fittings. In such cases though, it seems they all leak. :D

I have friends and neighbors that have had new hoses made. I bought a home-made crimper tool from a member here. $20-$30 and a few minutes of time and I haven't seen a drip since. Unfortunately, he hasn't logged-in in several years.

I thought of this last night. i was wondering if it was made drawing could be used for the I/O which has the motor reversed...

Thank you!
