Is anyone familiar with the "Verified Traveler" option, or better yet, fluent in Bureaucratese?

When I tap on the "Enrollment" button, this screen appears:

Fair enough. I went to Travelers and entered all my info, including passport # and my Trusted Traveler ID # from my Global Entry. It still shows the same message.

"View Eligibility Requirements" reveals this:

I'm not/have not been a member of SVRS or LBO and my I-68 is long-expired... I'm confused on what I'm missing?

I dont remember any problems when we set up the ROAM app/travelers.....i'll look later to see if i have any notes.....sorry, not much help I guess...

They are pushing everybody into NEXUS from what I understand... that's why the wife and I got ours last year.

I have Global Entry, which is the “inbound” half of Nexus. Canada doesn’t recognize it, but it works for the return from any country.

So I’m already a “Trusted Traveler”, but that doesn’t seem to translate to “Verified Traveler”?

I started using the ROAM app last spring just as it was being started in Port Huron and after using it a number of times, I think the American system is better. Canada still uses a phone-in system but there is a Nexus number (not sure that it doesn't just connect you with CANPASS anyways). Hopefully Canada will adapt a similar system to ROAM soon.
I have not seen messages like the one you describe above but my wife and I are both Nexus members anyways, so is the other couple you met on our boat last summer, Roller. Nexus is inexpensive and it also saves us time at the bridges by car and also at airports around the U.S. and Canada, in addition to marine entries. Besides, isn't Nexus cheaper at $50/ 5 years versus Global Entry with TSA clearance at $100?

I think the American system is better.

Who'd have thought those words would ever be uttered about border crossing?! That's encouraging to say the least - especially coming from someone who crosses as often as you do!

Yes, Nexus is cheaper, (I thought $100 vs $75?) but G.E. allows me to use the Nexus lanes returning to the U.S., as well as expedited screening at airports and cruise terminals returning from other countries. The first time I used it at MIA returning from Mexico, it saved more time than I've spent in Canadian crossings in my entire life! MIA had to convert a baggage carrousel area to a CPB queue to hold everyone - we walked right past them.

I just have to figure out what the Verified program requires. The U.S. might be making progress, but they haven't changed completely.
