Of course I chose Sea Ray. 1978 SRV-197 350 Mercruiser, rebuilt a lot of it, put in all new upholstery, found a nice bimini top that attaches to the railing, nice setup....
..native Detroiter and I'll be cruising Lake St Clair this summer...Happy Boating everyone...

Welcome Aboard, you can learn a lot here. Best site out there. There a thread in the Great Lake section of this site that a lot of us Lake St Clair peeps are on. Come introduce yourself.

Welcome to our little part of the world! Can you put some pictures up?

Welcome to CSR. I'd love to see more pictures of your boat.
Just rebuilt the V8 350. Added a bimini top. Any thoughts on a good material for cleaning and polishing the boat?

How do I find out what the gas tank material is on my 1978 SRV-197? something in tank that is causing the fuel line to get plugged.

Easiest way is to pull your fuel filter apart and see whats in it more the likely varnish for sitting. My 230wk tank was a mess pulled it out put a gallon of carb cleaner with about 10 foot of log chain in the tank rolled it back and forth over a 55 gallon drum until it cleaned up. you tank could be steel not aluminum in this case might consider changing it out.
