Merc out drive - high performance lower unit oil, Mercury brand or their store brand Quiksilver.

Engine oil - just get Delvac or Rotella or Valvoline premium blue in the 15w40 weight from Wally/Advance Auto etc.
No need for synthetic.

Follow the recommendations in your owner manual which can be found online if you do not have a copy onboard.

Thank you that’s just what I needed to know!! I’ve heard go synthetic it’s better for marine engines but I don’t get the hype of it honestly?

Synthetic oil can cause problems in older engines. Stick with the manufacturer's recommendation.

The owner manual you need is not Sea Ray. Look for Merc manuals online. A little searching and you will find your engine and outdrive.

The owners manual for your boat will specify an oil with ratings from 1980. They are 38 years out of date. That era engine needs a stout additive package which is why I recommended what I did.

That’s why I was Leary on some people saying go synthetic I always heard never use that in older engines, ohhhhh okay gotcha, I’m trying to figure out what my outdrive is? Is it a alpha or bravo or I see there’s bravo 2’s etc.... so I have no idea lol, I know the exhaust bellow is different than I knew it’s an oval shape if that means anything?

I’ll stick 15w-40 for sure like you suggested, does quick silver make it? Or just stick valvoline etc......

Quicksilver has a 25w40. It would be fine also but twice the price.

Gotcha! If it costs a little more I’m okay with that but long as it’s good oil, I only ask cause quicksilver is the standard for mercs right?

Quicksilver is the Mercury store brand. Only dealers can sell Mercury products so they created a retail brand also. Exact same stuff.
That oil would be fine also.
