These are already on the swim platform...are they for dingy davits?

These two mounts are on the back of the swim platform of our DB400, hopefully for davits.

If so, does anyone know what system they are from?

I want to put a dingy back there and will be looking for the other half of whatever these are to bring it on.

Thank you for any help and advice in advance.

They are for the weaver davit system. They have a pull pin to remove the device quickly. Just google weaver

They are weaver davits, which can also be used as a base for nautley davits system, should you choose to do so.

The other thing that are good for is teaching you all sorts of new words if you stub your toe on one of them while racing around securing your boat in its slip.
Knock wood, I’ve never caught a toe on mine.

Now, slipping in the footwell and smacking your knee on the cabin door step is an exercise in pain and cursing.

While not disagreeing with the pain they can cause, it seems far less painful than the non-removable davits I had taking up, what seemed like the whole swim platform and the trip hazard they were.

Love the Hurley H20 I replaced them with...

Also, do not let a previous mount dictate the davits you get, do your research and find what works for you. Davits are expensive and mounts are cheaper, so do not just take what you were given, figure it out.

I know you want to avoid platform repair, do it once right and pay once...

P.S. In no way am I implying that what you have is not right for you, just suggesting you verify that before spending money.

Weaver is a great Davit system. I personally like the Hurley H3. I can load my hard bottom dinghy without removing the 9.9hp outboard all by myself. I don’t need any help. Weaver is an industry standard. Just keep in mind the weight and type of dinghy you are going to use.

I have to get a new Davit system. How is the H3 to take off and store when you want to use the swim platform?

@Tom Coombs - I found something similar on my boat. Thought the davits were gone, but ended up finding them buried at the bottom of one of the storage compartments. Here is a link to a post with pics:

The Hurley isn’t removed. The bar with the crank on it is easily removed and stowed. There is a roughly 18x12 pivot box that remains. My kids and I have never found a problem using the swim platform. I guess it might be a toe stubber but I never have. We just leave the dinghy in the slip if we are going out for a day cruise

You can remove the H30, we do it all the time. The only permanently installed parts are a pair of 6" long bar with two 3/4" "nubs" that stick up, but Hurley sells a cover plate if desired.

I made up some new ones the time I slipped on my ladder going into the engine room and my face got ripped open on the latch...
