Thanks TJ, we were on the boat all wknd and left the key on.......worked perfectlySame here I leave the key on all the time.
Thanks Daze, left the key on and it worked perfectly all wknd.Turning the key on activates the pump, which should run till it builds pressure and then cycle off. Usually about a minute, give or take.
First, do you have the pump-out option (the key pad/switch is generic - look in the bilge for your seacock and overboard discharge pump)? The seacock needs to be open and then activate the overboard discharge pump.
There has to be a seacock for the discharge not the pump out. If someone removed it I'd seriously consider putting one back in.Our aft wash down faucet is dripping out the head even after replacing the O rings. Does anyone know where I can find a replacement gun? Hopefully the same exact one so it fits in the slot that keeps it in place when not in use. Trying to avoid contacting Marine max
Thanks
It sounds like maybe he doesn't have the macerator option for overboard discharge. There has to be a seacock for the discharge not the pump out. If someone removed it I'd seriously consider putting one back in.
Might be confusing some terminology here. When you go to a marina and them evac your holding tank, we call that getting a 'pump out'. When well offshore, in a legal discharge area, and if you have the overboard discharge pump, you can do an 'overboard pump out'. If you don't have a seacock in the bilge, then you shouldn't have the overboard discharge pump, either. Just make sure you don't have a big hose running from the holding tank to the bilge floor somewhere. Thanks Daze, left the key on and it worked perfectly all wknd.
Unfortunately, no seacock for the pumpout
Just to clarify are you referring to the transom shower faucet? If so - the entire 'box" or separate parts are readily available - try Flounder Pounder. Our aft wash down faucet is dripping out the head even after replacing the O rings. Thanks
Thanks Ferris, it's the shower. Unfortunately, the notshower head in that link is not the exact one. I'll have another look at that site tonight to see if I can find mine and I'll check flounder pounder a site someone else mentioned. There has to be a seacock for the discharge not the pump out. For the sink/shower iirc it's this right:

Sorry I saw you said aft , do you mean the sink or the shower? Either way the above link should point you in the right direction.
I believe I do have the macerator but no sea cock or pump switchIt sounds like maybe he doesn't have the macerator option for overboard discharge.
Nope, no hose in the bilge. I believe I can only be pumped out.Might be confusing some terminology here. When you go to a marina and them evac your holding tank, we call that getting a 'pump out'. Thanks TJ, hopefully I can find and buy just the faucet/gunJust to clarify are you referring to the transom shower faucet? If so - the entire 'box" or separate parts are readily available - try Flounder Pounder.
I think you probably have the same one I do, I just ordered this:Thanks Ferris, it's the shower. Unfortunately, the notshower head in that link is not the exact one. I'll have another look at that site tonight to see if I can find mine and I'll check flounder pounder a site someone else mentioned.
Thanks again
A little searching online will be your friend. I just replaced the hose from the mixer to the handle this past winter and got it from flounder pounder. No need to replace the entire unit. However, keep in mind that if it's dripping it's probably one of the valves vs. the handle. Thanks TJ, hopefully I can find and buy just the faucet/gun
The pic shows the system you'd have on your boat. If you do not have overboard discharge start at #12 and follow back to the tank, those items wouldn't be there. If that was the case all of item #10(vacuum generator) is probably sitting where the #14 arrow is pointing.I believe I do have the macerator but no sea cock or pump switch
Thanks Woody
Not sure about 1990's version but over all the foot lever actuates the water valve. Start by removing the collar around the base and you'll see it in the back, where the water line goes in. Make sure it's not sticking open would be my first approach.Hey guys my head in my 1990 280 won’t stop filling I’m new to cabin boats so really don’t know how they work . I will say that the previous owner abandoned the black hose cominG through the wall and ran a pex from the cold water side of the bathroom sink. I don’t know if that has anything to do with it. Any input would be appreciated thanks

Good morning. I have a Smartcraft related question. I have a 2004 280 with twin 4.3s. My port tach/LCD stopped displaying any data from the port engine or depth transducer. I swapped the port and stbd cables but the port LCD still didn't work. Interestingly, if I disconnect and reconnect the cable into the gauge the LCD will briefly display data but will eventually stop displaying. My next step is to remove the gauge and see if I can disassemble the casing and look for loose wires or bad solder joints. Any other suggestions are much appreciated.
