I did the same three years ago and don't miss the big fridge. Aesthetically speaking I never liked the way the big fridge looked and it was too hard to use the stove and coffee maker. Like the smaller fridge and extra counter top.

It definitely looks good. I have the same size on mine and we're able to pack quite a bit of stuff in it.. .Enough for 3-4 days anyway.

I like the look as well, but would really miss the refrigerator space. We have a 10 year old and routinely go out with quite a few friends with kids and need the room for snacks and food. Also when we take our annual trips, 7-10 days, we really need the room in the fridge. Besides, I don't drink coffee

Eluther3, I was wondering about that. I too considered butcher block top, I like how yours looks as well it turned out very smart. Smaller counter seems to be a better look for the salon with smaller fridge but I do get why some people need more fridge capacity because of number of guest. I tend to just drink a lot when I boat and go out to eat mostly, or help friends with their boat projects and they feed me as pay back....LOL

Questions: What light fixture did you use? Is it LED?
Also, I don't see the upper bunk, did you remove it?

Yes, we took out the upper bunk and have it stored in our garage if we ever need it.

My next project is to move the TV over the refrigerator. and possibly putting up a wine rack where the TV is currently. That will free up counter space, but it also makes the big hole in the middle of the counter more obvious. I looked in the manual and it looks like there was a food processor there originally, so I'm guessing all of you have the hole. What have you done to cover it up? Have you put anything else there?
