So I just bought this boat new a few weeks ago. Still figuring out all the little things. There is one thing I can't figure out: the front storage compartment in the floor holds water until I pull the main drain plug at the back of the boat. All of the other compartments drain fine. Can anyone explain that?

Thanks, Mike

Do you mean the ski locker? If it's like my 270 SLX, there are 2 bilge pumps: One in the back of the ski locker (hidden) and one in the engine room. Other people more familiar with your boat should chime in.

If the ski locker has an appreciable amount of water in it, then the bilge (engine bay) has even more water in it and is backing up into the ski locker. The ski locker drains to the bilge.

What's causing so much water to get into the boat? Is the boat at a bow down angle?

Also, check the operation of the bilge pump.

None of the other lockers have water. The locker I'm talking about is the very front locker in the floor between the front U-seat. It holds water until I take the drain plug out. Then that small amount of water drains out. I agree that it seems like the bilge must be full of water but I checked and it is bone dry.

I don't see how this could happen. Maybe I'm crazy. I'm going to get a water hose and do some more testing...

if it is like other Slx models, there is a faux floor and that water runs under it to the bilge. That mid section might be full but not the bilge. I think your hose test might be next. Odd that pulling the plug drains that but you don’t see bilge water.
