OFFICIAL - 450DA Owner's Thread****

Pretty boat (if I do say so myself).

I went the Garmin route with a 7212 head unit and four GMI-20 multi-function displays. The only thing I kept was the Raymarine autopilot and to be honest, I haven't bothered to install it on the new dash panels. Not really needed on Lake Lanier.

Congratulations on your 450. You will love the fuel economy and range of the 450 with the 3126 engines. I typically cruise at 2400 rpms burning 13.3 gph each engine for a total of 26.6 gph traveling at 29 mph (25 knots). I estimate 1gph for the generator. That gives a lot of range carrying 400 gall s of diesel. My cruising partners can’t believe how little fuel I use until they see the pump themselves.

In regards to electronics, I have upgraded to (2) Garmin 8012 displays and the Fantom open array. I have the original Raypilot 650 integrated without any issues using 0183 interface.

We love the boat and ease of handling.

Enjoy your new to you boat.
Have a friend who sells garmin equipment and can get sales discount. Good info! Glad to hear the original raypilot can work on newest equipment.

After hours at this point but before I call Sea Ray and Bomar, does anyone know the Bomar part number for replacement window gasket material or the actual Bomar window number for late 90’s era 450? I have the sea ray part as #729319, but unsure which Bomar product that actually is.

Sorry, I don't but to clarify... you are asking about the power vent window gasket in the windshield ?

The windshield and all its parts are not Bomar......they are from TaylorMade.

And, the Sea Ray part number is an internal number for Sea Ray. It is doubtful that any vendor will recognize the SR part numbers.

I was looking for the gasket on the port light/windows through out the cabin. The sea ray part # is listed above is for Bomar portlight SS616, ordered a boat load (9)of them at 24$ a piece. Tried getting them locally but ended up ordering from pompannette/Bomar.

SKU Description
385432 Bomar, Screen w/frame for Classic Series Portlight
488066 Bomar, Gasket Classic Series Portlight

Dont order the lens though as these do not have the same hole centres as our vintage boats. I found out the hard way but they were good about it, offering a credit. They will not supply blanks either.
On a brighter note we have had our 450 10 years and have had a great time with her. KVDUFF you wont be disappointed.

Hey folks, gotta problem w/the bow deck drains that pass thru the chain locker. 2in fittings on deck and hull, slightly offset and connected by a piece of 2 in hose which has failed. Can't find anything to replace that's 2in and flexible enough to make the offset. To add to the mystery SeaRay say's there's no 2in hose anywhere on the boat, so there's the possibility that the entire set up has been jury-rigged? Any thoughts? Makes me nuts that the deck drains forward in the 1st place.

Cool thing I found the other day replacing the Black & Decker Space Saver coffee maker. I guess I've got the last one?

Does anyone know the wiper blade size/type? I was at the boat and realized they need replaced but forgot to bring home. Has anyone replaced their wiper blade support? The part that mounts to the arm? Not a big fan of the metal if the blade tears the glass gets scratched. Thx

Here is the arm assembly. I replaced both of mine as this model swings up for maintenance (like normal wipers) Sorry I don't have the blade length handy.

Hey new to the thread and looking to purchase a "new to me" 96 450 DA this boat has been sitting in fresh water so it has absolutely zero electronics. We have been looking at Garmin. I saw your post here and would love the contact if its still something we end up doing based on the surveys and sea trials! Loving all the comments on here so far learning a lot.
