This past weekend a guest apparently had a new bathing suit cover up -- navy blue.
I noticed at the end of the day that my vinyl seat backs were blue-- I tried everything I had on the boat to get the fabric dye off the seats, working my way to bleach with no avail!!!
Does anyone have any secrets????
need Help
Thanks

I use Leather Master Dye Transfer Remover to get blue jean dye off the leather and vinyl seats in my cars. Works great.

I have a secret weapon. Soft scrub. But be careful and yes I know it’s not great for the fabric. Rub on some soft scrub them out it in the sun for a couple hours. Rinse it well afterward.

LA’s Totally Awesome Cleaner.
I usually get it on Amazon bu I’ve seen that Home Depot sells it now in the aisle with all the cleaning stuff.
Exact same thing happened to me on Saturday with blue ink/dye from a patriotic looking napkin.
I sprayed the spot liberally with the cleaner, let it soak for a minute or two and it wiped away using a terry cloth rag.
Retreat the area with 303 or other protectant once you have it clean.
Soft Scrub will probably do it too but it is abrasive and if not careful you could wear down the area. It also contains bleach which is a killer for the stitching.
I would only go to products like that as an last resort after everything else failed.
I’ve seen vinyl guys wipe dirt marks and stains off of fresh pieces of vinyl they’re working on with Naphtha too but never tried it myself.

How long did you let the bleach set for? If not for very long, saturate (but not dripping) a WHITE rag with a solution of bleach:water and let it set for at least 5 minutes. Then try 10 minutes. If that doesn't work, no product that is bleach based will work.

Clean it up with traditional safe methods and see if mother nature's own sunshine won't finish it for you.
I had a yellow microfiber rag left on a white seat leave a stain. 4-5 sunshine-y days later the stain was gone.

Mr Clean Magic Eraser spray first with a mix of blue dawn dishwasher soap and vinegar.

Direct sunlight removes a lot of dye transfer stains.

Magic eraser is a micro abrasive...last ditch only. See what several hours of direct sunshine does...usually works (as already stated).

Please stay away from using anything Magic Eraser. It will damage the material without doubt.

Once upon a time, I used one to remove a stain on our last boat. The vinyl never looked the same, never had a shine again and got dirty very quickly. It basically removed the top coating on the material that protects it.

Beware that the Magic Eraser is abrasive and will create a wear spot on the vinyl if you aren’t extremely careful. Personally, I would avoid using it.

I've always found Spray 9 removes the dye off the seats.

same here....spray nine is my 'go to' general cleaner and it does a good job on just about anything...it even cleans grease off of the grill....
