Hello All,

I'm the new owner of a 2002 Sundeck 240 and was hoping to get some trouble shooting help on the fresh water pump. Right now tank is empty but when I press a sprayer head I am not hearing the pump kick on. I dont want to fill the tank until I have the system working.

Is there a safety that will not allow the pump to turn on without water in tank? If not what's the best steps to troubleshoot? I have no problem getting in there with a voltmeter etc or swapping the pump if needed. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thats what you need to do get a volt meter and check to see that your getting 12 volts at the pump.At least put some water in the tank. the pump has pressure switch in it that controls the on off

Thank you. I thought this may be the case with the pressure switch but wasn't sure. The boat is in great shape so if the freshwater system is like the rest of the boat I just need to put in some water.

After putting some water in the tank, I have also had to tap on the case of the water pump to get the pump to come on.

Turning on the dashboard switch with an empty tank should cause the pump to run continuously.

Turn in the switch and test for power AND ground at the water pump connector.

Well turning on the switch would help I suppose. I'm guessing it's lower left on the key pad the box with squiggly line?

I’m not sure on yours, I have individual toggle switches on my 2007.

Yeah, turning it 'on' first, would defintely help! :)

Yes, a box with a squiggly line going through it is the pressure water system icon. It's a standard icon. FYI, there's probably info about this in your manual (downloadable, too).
