44DB Refrigerator Removal

Yes I did.

It's plug-n-play. Take the screws out, cover the floor and use some wood shims to maintain the floor level. Slide it out, turn off the breaker, disconnect 12VDC & unplug 110VAC. Pull the fridge out.

The hardest thing was to carrying it out and new one in. With 2 people, it's not that big of a deal.

Depending on the new fridge, you might need to build a base to have it set at the right height.

Norcold DE-0061 - I had 3 new units in my boat in 6 years, to be fair I don't know how old the 1st unit was when I got the boat. None were reliable or could hold a consistent temperature. The last one failed within 2 months of service. The West Marine warranty is a joke, they just push you to the manufacturer. The manufacturers "service" provider couldn't respond for 6-8 weeks and no other provider was close. The OEM "customer service" does everything within their power to invalidate the warranty and didn't even know their own product. After multiple failures and the service technician damaging the electronics (which they blamed on me) I bit the bullet and cut a larger space to put in a unit that is bigger and is reliable. The conversion was simple, the cost of the new unit was 1/3 the Norcold, and we can now use a fridge/freezer without worrying about losing food in defective Norcold model. My original lasted 16 years and #2 has performed flawlessly for 4.5 months. I got it brand new in the box for $1200. I guess there are good ones and bad ones.....
