So how long would you say bottom paint lasts, sealed in original can. Inerlux ablative. It's several years old. Haven't opened it yet, but it shakes.

I need to do some touch ups, and don't want to spring for a new quart.

Easily lasts two years in the can with some air on top of it. After two years it's iffy. I watched a professional painter lay down some plastic wrap on the paint surface inside a can for storage. Reduces exposure to air which helps with longevity.

I just opened a can of blue bottom paint, half full, given to me by a member at our marina. He had the paint for 3 years before giving it to me. I'm pleased to say, I stirred it good and used it this pass Thursday with no problems

I work for a paint manufacturer and we’re conservative about shelf life and expiration, but I’d say that solvent based paints are good for 3 years or more unopened.

Water based paints about half that provided that they haven’t frozen.

I just painted my bottom with 2 year old Jamestown Total Boat and it was fine.

Mux it real well. Use one of the paddle mixers you hook up to a drill. If its old its a good chance the metals and other inhibitors have settled.
