has anyone installed a larger fresh water tank on a 2003.5 340 SDA?

Have you looked into a water maker?
I have, however I use the boat in spurts, so pickling and unpickling for 3 to 7 days of use, then not using again for a month or two, doesn’t seem optimal.

I picked up a portable water bladder to use when I'm on the hook for an extended period of time.

My vintage (2002) 340DA only holds 40 gal fresh water, it's a real limiting factor sometimes. If you're in a full service harbor with a water boat, like in Block Island, it's not a problem, they'll come out and refill you on the hook, but if you're in a nice quiet out of the way anchorage, 40 gals won't last too long.

We have a couple of the blue 5 gallon potable water containers as backup. We just pour them into the water fill when we run out. The bladder sounds interesting, because presumably it can be rolled up and put out of the way when not in use? How/where do you stow that when full, and also how do you tie it into the water system? Do you pump or siphon it into the boat's water fill when the regular tank runs low? Thanks.

Just use a little bit of water treatment and you should be fine.

The bladder I'm using is a pvc type material, and stores easy when not needed. You can easily attach a small pump to transfer water. It is a simple solution.....Top off the boats water tank after you have use enough water through the fill cap. I keep my up on the bridge and gravity feed with a garden hose after my first day on the hook.
