I finished the GTO about 20 years ago and bought the C6 new. It’s got about 7k miles on it. Holding out for my son to get out of College so he can take the C6 and I can get a new mid engine C8.

Just got rid of my 96 in January. Bought it new, kept it as an extra fun car and my daughter used it in High School and when home from College. She’s graduating next month and no longer needs it. Was sad to see it go, but believe it or not, the guy who bought it is putting it in to a multi million dollar collection of about 70 or 80 cars he and his partner own. Wouldn’t have believed it but he invited me to see the collection and it was amazing.
We couldn’t believe how many calls we got on it when we listed it on Craigslist. I knew they were kind of popular, but didn’t realize how much they’re sought after.
The GP in the background is my son’s car. He’s a college Freshman who also has a soft spot for Pontiacs.

Wow! That's awesome it is going into a collection. I thought about putting mine up on Craigslist this year but not looking forward to all the calls and tire kickers. The kids love lifting these and putting gigantic tires on them.
This is as far as I went,...31" tires on factory wheels along with a 2.5" lift. I wanted to keep it as stock as possible.

Very nice! They do that around here too. For some reason they like the square Cherokees and the ones with the OBD are most sought after. They’re almost as popular as the 97 and up Wranglers. Mine was bone stock, never hit, very clean interior with 96,000 miles on it and Selectrac. The guy who bought it was looking for a bone stock original owner low mileage one. He jumped on it. I probably should have held on to it and done what you did, but my wife thinks I have too many toys already.

Numbers matching?
I wish; the car is in pieces right now. Roush is building an all aluminum twin turbocharged hemi for it. The engine now in it is 510 CI ground thumper that is barely streetable. The turbocharging and low duration cam will make it idle like a Cadillac. It is a money pit by definition....

In order to keep my title as Resident CSR Cheapskate, let me post a photo of my tow rig....

Just kidding. It's a 1981 Toyota that has been in my wife's family since new. We keep it around for a kids' car when they go off to college.

No pics of the other two we have here, a 2005 BMW 330 convertible and a 2012 GMC Terrain that we use to tow the Whaler.

Here's another 1-owner (me). It's a 1998 Exploder with 127k miles that we keep in AZ to tow the Whaler we have down there. The Whaler in this photo is a 1981 that we found down there. The prior owner had completely rebuilt it to include new wiring, gelcoat, new wood, new railing, seats, etc. It looks like new.
