I'm curious to why SR has a higher dry weight listed for the OB version as compared to the sterndrive. The standard engine/drive package for the sterndrive, compared to the standard 115 OB, is almost 500lbs more. Doesn't quite make sense.

I would guess the bare hull weight for the OB would be more than the I/O because it has the extra OB mount section cantilevered in back of the transom. Also, since the motor is out back so far there must be a lot more stringer reinforcement to support it.

But I agree, you would think the 500# engine difference would balance some of that out.

I pointed that out to a Marinemax dealer a few months ago. They were surprised at that published number and were stumped.

Both the 210 and 230 OB versions are 300-400 lbs lighter than their sterndrive counterparts. My 2016 19 OB had a dry weight listed of 2494 and that's with the 150 Mercury as standard equipment, adding almost 100lbs over the current model. Something still doesn't add up.

The plot thickens. Must be a typo somewhere....LOL.

I have the 2018 and 2019 catalogs. The data there agrees with the web site.

The 210 I/O is 314 # heavier than the OB, and the 230 comes in at 453 # heavier. So Bridog's numbers are spot on. The 190 is the anomaly.

2754 for the 190 OB and 2675 for the I/O.

Me guesses that the 2754 should actually be 2494. That would make sense. Then selling it with a 3100 # trailer would not be out of the question, though still a little on the light side...

Just updated Mobile VesselView. They have added some new features. Check your devices for updates.

Appears to be a rubber type plug which goes into a hole in the seat base. Not sure what it’s called but I’m curious if anyone has had to replace it, and what is the part called? Also, any ideas of a better solution to keeping the cushion in place would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I was thinking about Velcro to give it extra holding power. I have had my engine hatch pop open at interstate speeds. I now tie it down when traveling long distance on interstate.

Brian, that rubber, male piece should fit (snap) into the female piece pretty tight. It's usually quite noticeable as you 'feel' the snap. Is it possible that it just didn't get snapped in? If it's loose, I would ask for a new one. If you really wanted to, a strap or two could be added - secured to the underside of the cushion, then snapped to the vertical surface of the seat 'box'.

Moondoggie... fyi... whether you have the bow/cockpit covers or the full cover, they are both designed to be trailered with. If you're choosing not to use them, then absolutely, do what you can to secure things. Any seat cushions that could fly away should really be removed/stowed or put a weight on them. A rubberized "weight lifting plate" - say 25lbs - works very well.

Lazy Daze, Thanks, yes I remove the bow cushions and the starboard, corner cushion when I travel. Also make sure my center windshield is closed. I do not use any any cover while trailering. I also pull up my woven carpet while trailering at highway speed. Had several snaps pull loose from the wind lifting them. Good tip on the weights.

On Brian's pic, looks like the snap broke? Causing it not to lock down.

I can't see Brian's picture too well on my phone. But unless I'm not remembering correctly, it's simply a rubber 'post' that snaps into a 'cup'. There wouldn't be a snap (like a cover would have) - unless I'm not understanding your question correctly?

That's basically it. They are not tight at all. I've had my rear seat blow out of the boat. It is really a cheap clasp.

Looks like the cup has split which would not allow the post to lock in. Not sure since I do not have ready access to mine.

Now that I'm on a computer...

Brian, what the heck were you doing to that?!?! Did you get hangry? :)

Well, that certainly explains the issue. On the plus side, it's super easy to replace. That's certainly strange, though, given how relatively new it is. They do tend to wear out over time - but not to that extent and certainly not in that time frame. Weird.

You know... really trying my memory here... but that's the male piece, right? I seem to recall that there would have been a small, cone-shaped piece attached to that - to make inserting into the cup easier. If that's true, it obviously came off (in the cup?) which would make inserting harder and might explain how it got beat up.

Either way, give your dealer a call and ask them to send you a new one.

Saw this on the FB site. Easy fix for an annoying problem with the glove box not staying open. Especially bad for those who have the radios in there. Picked this up at West Marine.
Great idea! What did you use to secure it to the hatch? Fairly thin - where you able to find small screws, or was some type of nut/bolt arrangement needed?

Yes, both the top lid and sides are thin. Small SS screws and some marine adhesive/caulk helped to secure it.

I brought home my 2018 SPX 190. I have had it out on the water a few time and I love it. It didn't come from the factory with a battery shut off. I would like to add one. I know that some wires need to stay connected to the battery and should not be run through the shut off. Can someone that has a shut off show me how it is wired.

I'm a little confused on what the "back seat cushion" is from the pic. Do you mean the seat bottom over the built-in cooler? If so, mine is secured on the aft side with a full length piano hinge, so its not even detachable. The front has a black plastic male end attached to the bottom that mates with a female end countersunk into the FG seat base. The small stbd side aft seat base, plus the bow cushions are fitted with plastic "Rails" on the bottom so they stay in position, and are so tightly wedged in they are almost a pain to get out.

They have changed/improved the design. Mine doesn’t have a hinge, only that male/female thing holding it down. Doesn’t stay put
