MerCruiser 5.0L MPI ECT Bravo III Sterndrive (260 hp - 194 kW)

I've flipped it both ways, made sure it's completely telescoped compressed, but I can't close the hatch over the damn ladder. What am I doing wrong? I tried a little too hard to close and chipped fiberglass off the damn hatch too. ARghghhghgh.

I had the same boat and don't really remember any trick to it...do you have a pic with the hatch cover up?

I'll snap a shot when I'm back. I had them replace it, so maybe they over tightened one of screws keeping it from moving, as you say, fore and aft
