What is wrong with people....

As a victim of a hit-and-run, I'm 1.5 years overdue to get cameras. Any advice?.

I just bought cheap cameras off of eBay.. It was just an experiment to see if I liked the idea... Then I would invest in more expensive higher quality... So far no reason to replace them.... And as usual soon as I put them in over a year ago I have only taken two videos off of them
Just like these
2x 2.7" LCD 1080P Car DVR Camera Video Recorder Dash Cam Night Vision G-sensor

I also doubt it will total cliff,The shop will determine along with your insurance company the degree of frame damage. There are standing rules to follow on a frame repair or sectioning procedures of frames,( i am ICAR certified to do this)the general rule will start with determining if it is a kink or a bend.Bends are repairable to industry standards,so are slight kinks. Most automobile manufacturers sell frame rail sections that can be spliced in,when done correctly it will last as long as the rest of the car.I know if it was my 944 turbo i would be bummed but not for long.

sure hope you are right....i get a little sick feeling thinking it may be totaled...i REALLY enjoy driving this car....as far as the collision/repair affecting resale value i am not concerned about that....i do not intend to sell this car....i have too many kids and grand kids that would LOVE for me to hand them the keys some day.....

I have a friend that works at K&M. Loves the place. He may do your disassembly.

the car is supposed to be at K&M today sometime....tell your friend to be on the lookout for a maroon 2004 Porsche Boxster with rear end damage....and ask him to be 'gentle' with her....:).....

well, its official...the Porsche is a total loss...K&M found more damage to the frame as they took the rear of the car apart....the cost of the repairs was more than the current value of the car...the insurance company called me Saturday to tell me the news....also the detective for my case informed me he has closed the case since he has little information to go on...he said it can be reopened if we have a good lead on the truck involved in the future....so i think i am going to take the payoff for the Porsche and sell my older truck and get me a newer and nicer truck...but i sure miss driving the Porsche...

Well, that's a shame... sorry it turned out that way. Enjoy your new truck!

Sorry to hear that Cliff. As I mentioned before, glad you're safe.

Sorry to hear it.

Just re-read the original post and have to say I have actually seen something like that happen. I was driving home on a 3 lane highway. Late afternoon, early evening. I see this guy in an old Oldsmobile. He comes screaming up the left lane, right up to someone's bumper, then slams on his breaks. He's swerving all over the road. Does it a few more times. I do my oh craps and start to fall back to stay as far away as possible from this guy. Within a few minutes, he ends up ramming someone from behind. Guy had no business being on the road.

Wow thats unbeliveable cliff,it didnt look that bad. Before you settle do a little research and see what the same vehicle in the same condition has been selling for in your area .Most insurance companies will try and lowball you at first, also if you have any recent repair or tire purchase reciepts you can possibly get a little back from that.Nothing wrong with a new truck either i am looking at the new chevy blazer but waiting to see if any recalls or bullitens pop up on them before buying.

Sorry to hear this Cliff. Again glad you are ok.
On the somewhat same line, wife got rear ended yesterday. Very minor damage. Waiting to hear from the other guys insurance.

And phone number has changed. Message me on here if you want the updated number.

Maybe his name is 854 and he thought you were insulting him???
