Several of our boating friends say the sea rays have slippery platforms. Anyone out there with 07-08 sundancer integral platforms have any issues?

I've slipped on mine. And a Cruisers. And Regal maybe once or twice.

I don't think this is a feature unique to Sea Ray....? Put some cheapo EVA foam on the platform and carry on!

We line up a bunch of manufacturers every weekend during the summer (sea ray, Caver, regal formula, four winns, cruisers, etc), everyone knows, be careful on the sea rays (usually 5 or 6). My last boat (four Winns) had great non-skid. The boat before that had a swimplatform.com that I installed in it. Those are fantastic too. I envision doing something on the sea Ray this summer

It’s easy to have nonskid added. I wouldn’t let this influence a purchase at all. If you think it’s slippery then have your fiberglass/gelcoat folks add more aggressive nonskid.

I think Sea Ray transitioned their type of non-skid from textured gel coat to a molded diamond pattern somewhere between 98 and 2005. I say this because my in-laws 98 270 DA has the textured gel coat in the foredeck and swim platform. My 2006 AJ (first model 2005) had the molded diamond type.

The textured type is kind of a wavy pattern, like when a light breeze hits calm water. It can get slick and I’m always careful on it. My molded type has deep channels and never feels slick. I would guess that any 07-08 model will also have the molded diamond type.

Its not the swimstep, its the greasy sunscreen that people have all over them when they sit/lay back there. They get in and out of the water all lubed up and it makes it super slippery back there. The spray on sunscreens are the worse because they go every where with a thin sheen of slipperyness. I have crash twice on mine. I added snap on carpet to mine and its been all good...

Do not allow spray on sunscreen on the boat...

You will not do this more than once! Slipped while wearing Clark’s flip flops and hit the floating dock! Owwwwtch!! Pain didn’t go away for a week. Lucky I didn’t hit my head!

My 08 has the grooved checkered texture.
I just ordered some seadek for the little side steps. Will see how it goes this first season.
