So need a B3 wrench to get my props off. Not sure it matters but mine is a 2006 with the cone anode on the prop shaft. I just replaced that so I know getting that off won't be a problem. I don't have anything that will fit it. I was at Auto Zone and saw they had a socket that was the right size (forget what size it is now). Thought about buying that for about $20 then I think a regular wrench can be used for the inner prop? Or should I just buy the correct B3 prop wrench? Any specific one I should buy?

That forward prop nut is 2&3/4 inches. It cost about $60-$70. If you’re creative, you can make your own. I made one out of 3 inch exhaust pipe and some flat stock.

I haven’t seen any other type of wrench that could be used to remove the forward prop nut.

It’s about a 6” deep socket.

I bet that autozone tool will work......chop it, and weld in a section.....migh look something like this!

I have used a very large pair of channel locks that I used on that rear nut. I just purchased the proper tool for its removal. I think I paid 65.00 on ebay.

I had the B3 socket to remove the outer nut and bought a 1 3/8” socket at HD for the inner nut.

Thanks. Might just order that one in the link. By the time I source the parts and pieces then spend countless hours and re-dos it would be cheaper for me to buy one....lol

Yep that is what I use too. Works great and think it was around the same price as the one in the link. Seem like I got mine off ebay.

Just ordered one from Hill Marine for $89
