This has been a brutal start to 2019, fellas

We're getting closer! This is a pic from today out near Grand Haven. There is still ice in the basin but the river is pretty much clear...inching closer to go-time.

Keep at it, with a little extra effort you could finish the port side in 4 hours and 5 beers!

It's not my fault it takes so long ....The darn storage neighbors keep coming over and talking about boating.. or we are hunting for popped breakers with flash lights....Good times

Did you get your numbers switched? I know my beer number is usually bigger than my hour number, especially when waxing is involved. :D
I only had 6 beers in the cooler.. 4 visitors came..if I shared I would only get 2 beers... So I talked with a buffer in one hand and polish in the other.... That greatly reduced my rate of consumption to work ratio

Our family had a cottage on Point Lookout, MI for my "formative years" (that means I learned how to drink beer and kiss girls) and every winter the ice would cover the entire expanse of Saginaw Bay. We'd often spend weekends there and it was great to listen to and watch the huge ice flows as they got pushed by the winds to the shore. The ice would pile up and then the next night it would happen all over again.

Here's a video my brother sent me. It was taken this winter by a friend of theirs at Point Lookout.

Brought mine home this morning then it proceeded to snow all day....lol. i'm on the schedule for the canvas shop this week so dropping it off in the morning 100 miles away so a nice trip...lol.

All of the ice is gone at the marina basin where I store. We've also got two Ocean's already in the water at Grand Isle. I guess that means it's getting serious now.

Of course it was 16 degrees when I left my house for work this morning...

We had three boats go by our home over the weekend.

Sunny day, no ice, but cold and windy. The boat is nearly ready for launch. Not a good day to be doing outdoor activities.
