Official 380 Thread

Chris-380, I had a similar issue with our 380.
The couch had been unused for quite a few years and would not move, found if i pulled the lower by hand while the wife pushed the switch it could move forward this went on for awhile its moving freely now though. Might just need alittle assistance at first.

Or you have some other electrical issues going on.

Jamie
There is a screw jack under there. Reach under and LIBERALLY spray with good metal treatment lube. Mine was very rusted.

Thanks Jaime!
That’s what I thought could happen. I will mention it to the salesman and have him check it when he gets time

I have a 2002 380 Sundancer with 8.1s 4 blade Props what are you guys running in Your Pitch and Diameter ? I bought this boat with the Genset Removed and while I was spinning 4600 with 1/4 tanks of fuel I could only spin 4400 Full of fuel. I am concerned with genset reinstalled and full of fuel My Props maybe a bit too big 21x23 currently

I have a 2001 380 sundancer. About 2 years ago my rear hatch was open i started driving and the wind caused the rear hatch to break off and sink to the bottom of the lake! I have been looking for a replacement ever sence and still have not found one. Anyone have any ideas on how to get a new one or a new one made? Thanks

There are a number of marine salvage yards scattered around the country that could possibly have what you are looking for. Might be a long-shot, but worth some phone calls. I am lucky to have one close to home in Clearwater and this place has tons of stuff. It's called Don's Salvage and you can reach them at (727) 576-8577. I am sure they can send something like that UPS to you. Hit google for the rest of the country - https://www.google.com/search?q=marine+salvage+yards&oq=marine+salvage+yards&aqs=chrome..69i57j0l5.7863j0j8&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

Good luck!

Can I trouble any of you to take pics and measurements of the locations of the bulkhead fittings for your windshield washer sprayers? I am adding this function to my 2001 and want to install in the "factory" position. As I recall, they are asymmetrical to the wiper posts, but would like to confirm, and also find out the center to center dimension from the wiper posts.

Thanks in advance!

Question about getting back-draft spray while on plane.

We are getting a lot of mist while we are on plane. We have owned the boat for almost a year now and I know we pick up a little mist here and there, but it seems worse now. The only thing that has changed is that I had the manifolds replaced a couple weeks ago. But those parts are inside the boat and I don't see how that could make the problem worse unless there is more exhaust pressure now. It doesn't help that it's salt water, so I have to clean deep into all the tight spots of the cockpit.

Any ideas or suggestions where to start looking? Thanks CSR.

Ok I know i saw it somewhere but i can not find it

I don't know where the post is, but I can tell you that on my 2001 it comes out as follows: Remove black padded trim piece in front of TV by prying up gently with fine pry bar or putty knife (it is attached with plastic Xmas trees). Remove the two black screws on either side of the front of the TV. Now the tricky part. My TV was screwed from the fridge side with three screws. I chose not to remove fridge. I used a hacksaw blade to cut the screws from between the TV mounting plate and the shelf of the fridge cabinet. The one in the back was really difficult...

Hope this is helpful

Thanks for the responce

I already have the front screws out and the TV slides back and forth so no screws from the bottom (Thank goodness) Is the padded trim you mention the one that goes around the side and across the front ??? what size TV did you replace it with ???

Good thing about the screws! Yes, that's the padded trim I mentioned. I did not install another TV... Storage box went there. TV went on left corner of couch, below cabinet.

Going to order some fenders this week. Thinking of getting the Taylor Big B 10X26.... what are you guys using, which ropes? Are you always on a cleat, or do you have something special to put on the rail for the front?

I want the 4 if possible to fit in the aft storage
Please share your setup/system that is working on the 380
Any help is appreciated

Thank you!

Hi Chris. I use the Taylor Big B 10" x 26" fenders and I cant fit 4 in the trunk sorry to say (we have a stern anchor and other gaer back there. I put two in there and can squeeze one under the back seat because I let a little air out of it. I also have two that I leave up front all the time rigged with a clip so I can use the fender a couple different ways. I posted in the thread back on Jan 31. I use 3/8" rope for all my fenders with washers at the bottom.

I couldn't stand using the fender baskets as I didn't like the looks, but more importantly, they obstructed my view while under way. I took them off and was on my way to throw them out when a friend asked me if I was going to throw them out....so he now has my baskets.

You can see in my tag photo, the fenders that are just forward of my spring cleats. They go over the side when we are at the dock and we flip them over when we pull out. I feel they dont look too bad so it makes life easy for me.... I have a bad spine so every lil bit helps. The lines are wrapped around the bowrail a few times and then the snap locks I have lock in the length I need. If we are rafting up with friends, we try to use cleats first and then the bowrail.

Vince

Thanks Vince, my wife doesn't like the baskets for the same reason, I will look at it when I get it to the home dock. I ordered the fenders ropes, clips and bottom stops (for the rope/fender)

Couch was an ez fix, they said a wire became disconnected, so that saved the seller a few bucks and makes me happy.

We are closing on sunday with one contingency, the windlass replacement motor will be delivered on Tuesday and the mechanic will install (hopefully) Wednesday. I have hired a shipper, should get moved late next week, or the following week.

I was wandering if anyone has the info or can point me in the right direction for the type/how much oil and filter I need for the 7.4 horizon oil change. I would also like to order the impellers for the engines and genny while I am at it.

Thanks in advance
Chris

Anyone on their boats this weekend that can take a couple of measurements and pics? Would love to get the locations of the windshield washer squirter things next to the wiper arm pivots!

Thanks!
