Hi All,
I have a 2008 290, new boat to me, and one of the first upgrades is sound system as its probably the most important aspect of the boat! Going to install either JL MX650 or MX770 in the sides at bottom of arch. Disconnect the "front" speakers which are blocked by the cabin door and helm seat and install MX650 in the arch pointing down. Unfortunately all four speakers are still not optimally placed since they're kind of all installed in a ring. Would love to get something upfront or in back but don't see any good options.
Can anyone recommend best locations for one or two 10" subs. I would love to see some pictures as I can't find much for the 290s. Curious where the factory location was for the upgraded stereo. I'm not a big fan of infinite baffle subs. They don't sound "tight" and quick to me and they tend to vibrate unintended enclosures. I'm going to attempt to fiberglass a sealed enclosure but space is going to be extremely tight especially with the 10" sub and very challenging access. Not sure if I can actually do it.
Thanks!
