Wondering what most are using for cameras aboard. What brand and where are the locations you have them installed. Would like to have something down in the engine room as well as something looking aft. Would be nice to be able to remotely access the cameras as well for monitoring purposes. We are running the raymarine c120w so integration would be nice.
Those are a different challenge. The chrome ring turns counter clockwise to twist off maybe 1/4 turn. I would have to check, but I think I used something like this-View attachment 65145and there may be two of them. Mine had blue lights in there when I got it, but I changed to the warm white....

I was finally able to wrestle off the fixture and ended up using the same bulbs as i did for the interior (2 for each fixture)

Wondering what most are doing for cameras on board. I currently have an axis camera that i used on our 320 and plan on mounting to the arch on the bridge. Its low profile and has PTZ function with audio. However i would like a camera down in the ER as well as one facing aft. Would like to know where those with cameras have them mounted as well as have them integrated to the MFD (c120w).

I have 3 Samsung SmartCams. One on the front of the bridge looking aft to the helm and hatch, one in the salon looking aft to the sliding door, and one on the cockpit looking across to the boarding area. I have not hooked them up to my MFDs, but they give me a motion alert on my iPhone...

My setup is a bit more complicated. I have total of 10 cameras. I split my setup into two different modes:
1. On-board viewing is where 4 cameras (2 in ER, 1 salon, 1 aft) are hooked up to my E120 and usually cycle.
2. Remote viewing is where 6 cameras hooked up to DVR (recording 24/7) and accessed remotely to have "360 view" of what's going on.

Good morning. A member posted an advertisement for "dripperguard" they help protect staining underneath thru hull fittings. They come in two sizes: up to 1 7/8" thru and larger than 1 7/8" thru hull. Would anyone know the size of the thru hulls on the 2004 420 Sedan Bridge?
Thanks, Mark

Hey Mark, hope you are enjoying the boat. I assume you are referring to the A/C through hull fitting which the 1 7/8 Dripper Guard fit perfect however, don't waist your time in putting one on the aft fitting. I installed one on the aft but it would never stay attached. Dripper Guard replaced it several times before I gave up. Just spray a little CLR on the stain and it will be gone in 10 minutes. You will need to apply some new wax to the area after using the CLR.

Wow Alex that’s quite a bit. What model cameras do you have hooked up to your MFD? Also where did you mount your aft facing camera? I’m thinking center line on the ceiling of the cockpit below the stern light.

Most of mine are mini domes, hardly noticeable, model CMB610L. The problem is they're no longer available. Mine aft facing that's hooked up to MFD is on the back rest of the u-shape seating. The ER and Salon cameras are regular domes, but they fit nicely.

Irie308,

I have 7 cameras onboard for viewing different areas of the boat while onboard and away.
If your thinking of using the aft facing camera to aide in backing into your slip you may be disappointed I have found that while backing in your probably facing aft and to view the camera you need to look forward to the MFD I have no luck with this as there’s just enough time.
My cameras are really to keep an eye on my wife as she moves around the boat while underway and of course to record while we’re away.
Also the aft camera is great for watching the dinghy while underway.
I have 1 camera pointed at each transmission shaft and 1 monitors the entire ER.
Using a Bluetooth keyboard I can choose any camera from the computer in the salon and make it full screen
It’s a bit of work but it’s a robust system and I’m happy with it I just wish my cams where small like Alex’s

100% agree. I have a camera mounted above the cockpit. Far too much trouble to turn around and look at it. Face the rear and work off of the port corner of the swim platform. You will get used to it.

I realize that the mechanics of using the camera to back in may be futile in most cases, but i think a quick glance may help now and then. Ultimately I really wanted it to keep an eye on the dinghy and whats going on back there at cruise.

You are good there then. I just do not think you can use it like a back up camera on your car/truck. Maybe you could if you got really good at it, but I do not use it for that.

Hello folks, does anyone happen to know the size of the transom locker on the 2004 420 Sedan Bridge? I'm getting quotes for the transom name. Also, for bridge purposes, anyone know the height of the boat from water line to top of bridge canopy for bridge purposes.
Keith, I'm expecting you to chime in...lol.
Thanks in advance.

Doing the same for my 420 as well. I have all the transom dimensions at home and can provide them tonight. As for height above the water line, the following is from the Owners Manual. You may need to adjust if there are other things (e.g. SeaView mount) on your arch.

Mark:

Here's the size of the current name on your boat which will fit the stern hatch perfectly.

As far as hight, the attached diagram says it's a little over 18 feet.

Here is the dimensions I used with our sign place.

I doubt anyone will measure, but if your boat is documented, the letters have to be at least 3 inches. That usually only matters on the port of call.
That's true ... the PO was not a law abiding citizen! Will definitely correct it with the new name and port :)
