There was a fire at Tower Park Marina last night. The news said three businesses damaged. I think Delta Marine Sales, West Coast Canvas, and the registration office for the Yogi Bear campground. I hope they can recover, particularly West Coast Canvas.

That looks bad.

You know what they say when someone dies suddenly..."But I just saw him last week...". I was around there last week-end and thinking of getting a bid from West Coast Canvas. Guess that's out. Please update us on any local scuttlebutt. I will do the same.

Very sad... I hope everyone had good insurance...

Wow, Dan. That's never good. And didn't they just dump a bunch of money into that park? I thought Curt at West Coast Canvas had a second shop somewhere. I bet Marina West YC is glad they got out of that building and moved to Oxbow.

I got this off of Facebook this morning from the Bay and Delta Yachtsman:

“Although the devastation is historic to the Delta, know we have been in touch with Curt Page of West Coast Canvas. Curt wishes all those who know and use West Coast Canvas that he is already in talks regarding a new location. With confidence we know he will be back in business providing the same level of excellence in workmanship he has provided for the past 30 some years.

The Delta Marine Sales office also affected and although a loss it was their second location. The staff is happy to report that the original location at 1302 West Fremont in Stockton is continuing with uninterrupted customer service.”

Yes, lots of money going into upgrading that park. Although I don’t think they had put anything into that building. As far as I know, that was Curt’s only location. Good to hear it sounds like he will look to reopen somewhere else. Any speculation? Oxbow might have building space but not much dock space. Willow Berm has the opposite problem. Can’t think of any place else on the loop. Might have to go to Stockton. Antioch?

Ripoyla Upholstery and Canvas is already based out of Oxbow, so I doubt that would be a suitable location.

I have not personally spoken to Curt since WCC burned, but I understand he is still operating out of another facility for now.
