i just received my Vessel View today. Just wanted to see if anyone on the forum has installed one yet and do you have any pictures?

I got it too, but not installed yet. Would love to hear how it goes.

VV mobile or an actual VV 4 or 7?
I just received the VV mobile module, hope to install next weekend.

Here is the one I bought.

I received mine this past week and installed it. I needed to by a 6 way junction box because both 4 way boxes had no ports available. I removed 1 of the 4 way boxes replaced it with the 6 way, plugged everything in. Started the engines and opened the app. The only bit of data I'm not getting is the fuel tank levels. Might have to have the Mercruiser tech program it.

I see you have a 2007 so you already have SMART craft data going to your helm. I want the add this next year when more boat bucks become available. My question is you must have had to add This to your open port so I am going to assume the additional open port on the VV is what the tech can plug into?

I did not have an available port so I had to buy a 6 way port to replace one of the 2 4 way ports. I plugged the wires from the old 4 port into the new 6 port and put a dust cover over the open port. i have the SC1000 gauges.

I just installed mine. I had 2 way junction boxes, and both had dust caps in one port, so I removed the starboard dust cap, plugged in the mobile vessel view, and voila, engine data. Nice! Ow I need to do the hard work and mount it securely. Here is a pic, the bottom right plug is the one going to the vessel view.
The only thing I am uncertain of, is the instructions stated to plug the module into the “multiwake junction box... has unswitched 12v power from starboard battery”. I could t tell by looking, so I just used the port. Not sure how to tell which one has unswitched 12v. My ports were right behind the analog displays.

I installed mine in my 21 SPX about 2 weeks ago. It works great! I wish every add on was this simple to install!

Meant to say, “I just used the port on the starboard side”
I don’t think either has unswitched 12v, the unit powers off when the engines are in the off position. I might try the other side just to see. Either way, it works great!

Curious to hear you opinions on the data that the vessel view mobile has above and beyond the smart craft gauges. I've been thinking about adding this to my 2004 280, but my smart craft gauges already seem to have most of the information available in the app, outside of the fault codes, which would be a great addition. Would you mind sharing how you've used it and your thoughts on how it supplements the existing information from the gauges?

The VV will read anything you want as long as there is a sensor already installed from factory. If no sensor, say on trim , rudder or fuel tanks... aka fuel level.... then you need to block those on the app so you dont get alarms. Fuel level and guage level are not the same.

My sc1000 gauges can be hard to read in the glare. I like being able to see the data clearly in my iPhone or iPad. Plus the fault codes.

All, here is an example of the sensors I dont have on my 2001 410 8.1s's. I had to block these to stop the alarms. I can unblock at anytime if I decided to add a sensor. The Pitot sensor is on outdrives only so for me that's useless.

Here is a shot of the tablet I use for VV. Supported by a high grip suction cup monitor bracket. I usually flip between this screen, fuel burn and speed and another that is rpm and all critical sensors. Like oil pressure, water pump pressure, block temp, and a few others. I really like the water pump pressure because if my impellar is showing signs of wear the pressure drops. Hence well in advance warning I better change the impellar.

Two sensors that don't show a recording but are monitored are the crankshaft and camshaft sensors. I had a crankshaft sensor fail last year and the sensor said in plain English. Camshaft sensor issue. No hunting around for what would have been a gremlin! Huge value!
Have Fun out there guys!

I am getting these exact same errors, what’s is odd, the pitot sensor came up on my main smartcraft SC5000 as well, which is odd since I don’t have outdrives either, v-drives. However, once blocked, all works great. My battery life has been good as well, not noticing any significant drain on my phones battery, even though screen remains on the entire time and the brightness is all the way up.

The SC5000 hard unit was used in all installation versions of merc. If in an outdrive config then its turned on. If in a vdrive or direct drive its turned off. Yours may have been inadvertently turned on some how. Just go in and block the sensor.
