I am adding AC and heat to my 300 Weekender before spring launch. I have tried to determine what size unit I need but I haven't found a straight forward answer. So for those here that have a 300 Weekender, what size is your AC unit? I am looking at a MarinAire self contained reversing AC/heat unit in 9000BTU or 11000BTU. Thanks for the help

Mine is a 10,000 and is original to the boat

I think 10k would work that is what was in my 280.

Where are you? South Florida vs northern MI might require different size. In addition to heating/cooling you might want to consider dehumidification.

Generally speaking if a unit is oversized, it will cool the area down before dehumidifying. A properly sized unit will also draw moisture out as it cools, but it will take longer, but you will be more comfortable.

Call the mfg and get their opinion, I would think they have an application specialist that would get you the right unit. The money is in the installation, so might as well get the unit you really want/need.

I had the 9000 in my 300 we.The water circulation pump went out the day before a 2 week trip and te outside temps were close to 100 while i hung upside down changing the pump under the dinette seat.I couldnt get the correct pump that day so went with a larger 250 gph unit, you could hang beef in there an hour later.I do agree with dehumidificaion it works great on our new boat with 16000 btu unit i installed.
