Russ, Someone replaced them when the plastic one broke off. I should of gone that direction as well. Better sealing area than the 2 holes through the core. Do yo mean the caulk seam that runs around the edge of the fly bridge? It would be where the grab rail screws into the starboard overhead?

That’s interesting.

I have the same leak Russ. It comes in somewhere around the windscreen, arch or bridge rubrail and runs down. I removed and rebedded the aft sections of the windscreen last winter but no change. I'm under covered shed so I only get it occasionally from wash water.

At a loss. Just got my new Vimar dimmer switch, wired it just like the last one, it cut on for a second then shut off. Is something wired wrong? I can’t afford to keep killing switches $70 at a time.

This switch didn’t work when I bought the boat last year. After unsuccessfully replacing the switch, it dawned on me that I don’t like the location of the dimmer switch to begin with, and having 4 switches to control 8 lights in a space that’s half the size of a hotel room is just silly. So I rewired those 2 lights to operate on the main salon light switch. I’m going to use that cutout in the wall to mount my solar controller.

Problem solved!

I have a light switch labeled "bridge" on the port hard top arch. It doesn't do anything. The overhead recessed lights are all controlled by the helm dimmer switch labeled "spoiler" and the small lights near the deck around the settee are controlled by the helm switch labeled "bridge." There are no lights on the bridge (or anywhere else) that don't work.

I've attached a photo. Does anyone know what this switch is supposed to do? Thanks!

There’s a redundant switch on the dash that when on, will allow you to turn the bridge lights floor lighting similar to the subtle floor lighting that is also in the cockpit.

Anybody have access to the max clearance height under the Master Bed for a replacement A/C? and the depth and width of what will fit? and diameter of existing output hose. Need to order one and am 3 hours from boat. Thanks!

Your other issue is the vent has a diffuser, so you will need to fabricate a new one if you change manufacturer. I replaced with Webasto and love it. I also fabricated a new diffuser, works great.

"I did the TV stanchions myself. It's made out of s/s bar rails and s/s end caps. Anyone want to see pics, I will have to take some next time onboard."

Hi Cherman - do you get down to your boat much? I'd like to meet you there to look closely at your refridge/freezer retrofit. I'm ready to pull the trigger on replacements and would like your input and see your retrofit. You can get me offline at capnknuck@gmail.com

Carl, I was there all day today doing my aftercoolers. Should be back down on Monday weather permitting. You might want to wait until I put the breakfast back in place. It's sitting right in front of the fridges, and the floor is still out.
Chris

I am considering removing my spare props from my lazarette and putting them in storage. I'll put them back on the boat before we head to the islands next year, but in the meantime why drag around the extra weight during local cruising? Any thoughts? Any cons? Thanks.

Mine were stored at home since we bought the boat. Now there installed back in the lazarette as the boat is up for sale. We never traveled away from the states, so it would have been easy to retrieve them or have someone ship them to me. MUCH more room with the removed. The extra weight isn't much of a factor in my opinion.

My spares are stored at home, which is about two hours away from the marina. We boat on inland lakes and are usually within an hour or two of the marina, so I don't carry them. We do one long trip a year and I load them up for that trip, but then take them back home upon the return. They take a lot of space in the lazarette and interfere with routine maintenance and inspections. Just my thoughts.....

Thanks Crime Scene.

My waterline stripes are worn and I'm considering whether to replace them with decals or paint new ones or remove the stripes altogether. Does anyone have a photo of a 480DB without the water line stripes? I'm also getting tired of the waterline stain that happens here in north Florida. Raising the boot top about an inch and a half would solve that problem. Has anyone raised their boot top? How does it look?
