Mercury VesselView Mobile on sale. 45% off MSRP

Just ordered. Pretty sure I will need a 6 port junction box (one port for VVM, one for terminator, one coming from port engine, one coming from starboard engine, and one going to the smartcraft display (SC5000 in my case). I have 2007 MIE 350 engines. Oh, and they ask you for your serial number when purchasing, hp/cylinders, and model number. Fortunately, I still have my survey and the serial #s are documented there.

This is smart on their part. No one ever accepts returns on electronic parts, so they want to confirm your engines can work with this gateway before selling it to you and THEN you find out it’s not compatible.

Shoot!

Now I don't know what to do?

I was looking at the NMEA 2000 Gateway setup so I could attach it to my Garmin EchoMap, along with a Fusion Radio......This is such a good price. I wish it would attach via bluetooth or wireless to the Garmin......

This setup would probably save me about $300 vs. the NMEA gateway, NMEA starter kit and all the cable connections.

Have you talked to Garmin tech reps?

I would do the vv link and spend the extra.
Valuable having that info on your chart plotter imo.

Get the gateway. Having that data on your platter right in front of you is invaluable. When you were wearing sunglasses in full sun, sometimes you can’t see your phone. And anyway, your plotter is always right there in front of you. Your phone isn’t.

If you have sc capable engines with analog guages the gateway will get the info to nmea 2000. If you have link guages or a display you need the link module to drive those. That's how merc cs described it to me. The vv mobile should work with both.

Here is an idea. I rarely use my phone. I purchased a 10" Samsung Tablet and set it on a suction bracket via the side window, with the tablet edge resting on the lower dash. The tablet has a rubber case to protect it and limit it from slipping around.

Works perfect in all lighting conditions and doesn't block any switches or gauges.

For those of you looking for the part numbers for twin application. You can use a 6way - I just used two 4ways with a bridge cable. I wanted a open port available for a computer to talk to the engines without disconnecting harnesses.

I have an old IPad 4 that I will be using for Nav and was looking for a set up just like this one. Is this a Ram mount?

Just got mine on Saturday. I will be using an old Samsung pad to display my data as well.

Any issues with the heat effecting the unit during the hotter parts of the day?
Here in the PNW it doesn't get that super hot. 90 for about a month. Never had an issue.

Will this show me info on my GPS plotter through nema2000? I have 2004 8.1 inboard mercruisers. I have a older smartcraft now.
