HI All,
Looking to buy an SPX 210 wondering if it is worth the $8k to upgrade from the 150 OB to the 200? Any input woould be appreciated!

I wish my boat had less power......

Said no one ever.

I know, it’s not the power but the $8k cost. How about resale value on 2,3,4 etc year old boats?

Maybe the $8k is an investment in future resale value if you plan on selling/trading up in a few years.

Get the upgrade and go with the Verado. Big difference and worth 8k.

More power! Ever watch the Tim Allen show??

I think the answer would depend on how you plan to use the boat, i.e., full of people most of the time or just 1 or 2, pulling skiers or wakeboarders much of the time, like to go fast or just idle around, boating on open waters and taking some long trips with the boat or on a smaller lake where big power wouldn't be necessary.

Hope this helps.

There was a good article in Boating Mag in the Dec/Jan 2019 issue. They compared two identical boats. I forget the brand. Maybe Monterey or Chap. One with a 150 Yammy and the other with a 200. Their conclusion was there was too little difference in performance to justify the higher priced engine.

Not apples to apples but close enough for comparison sake. Worth checking out.
