New to the forum, my name is John.

I was looking for some assistance in mapping out a route from Stuart, FL to Annapolis, MD in the next few weeks. We are looking to do 10-12-hour days. Looking for recommendations for traveling obstacles as well as food and lodging. Pros and cons for inside vs outside. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the club John glad you have joined us. I only have one friend who has done the ICW actually from Charleston, WV to Stuart but he has moved to FLA full time.

John, Welcome. Congratulations on getting ready for an amazing adventure. My first advice, if possible, take more time. Those are long days. When I do it again, we rushed the first time, I will run only 6-8 per day. Start early, get in and enjoy where you stop a bit. If you can run outside you will make more time but it gets pretty boring as the view hardly changes. I enjoyed gawking on the ICW and time passes quickly. There are so many wonderful places to stop. If you can build more time, you will have more fun. Also, trying to make a destination may allow you to push the bounds to try to get there. Pushing to hard may invite trouble. It is an amazing experience. We went to Jupiter. On the way home we went Jupiter, Ponce Inlet, Brunswick (intended Hilton Head), Charleston, Beaufort, Norfolk, Middle River. Way down was Solomon's Island, Pirate's Cove, Wrightsville Beach, Thunderbolt (intended Hilton Head), some "Fishcamp" in GA, Ponce Inlet then Jupiter. Bring spares, get SeaTow, redundancy for electronics, charts, be ready to break things and make new friend$ and have the time of your life. : )

Wow....Forgot all about that thread...Thanks - I just re-read what I wrote, and I see I left so much out...

I will add a new post to that thread this week.

Please do! You’ve got a few more of us hooked now!

John, happy to help and good luck... I can give you local knowledge and amateur insight, but Capt. Rusty is the professional... If you end up spending any time here, you will see how valued he is.

Reach out to him if you want someone with true Sea Ray experience.
