1012 on 2006 496 mags Bravo IIIs. Only issues so far are related to drives. Bravo-itis and Steering pin seals. Spend most of its life in upper Chesapeake in the water. Now lift kept.
Just curious what top speed withB-III’s with 8.1’s all the 340’s around here are V drives. One even has 6.2’s with V’s

There's a guy at our yacht club that has over 3500hrs on Mercruiser 454s in a 1985 Wellcraft Gran Sport. He bought the boat new. Heads have never been removed and the boat is water stored every winter unwrapped. I know this sounds impossible but I have been a member for 11 years and know the resident mechanic that has maintained the boat since new. Rumor has it he bought a new boat recently but not sure.

With 15 gallons of water and 3/4 fuel in each tank, three of us on boat, @ 4500 rpms we run at or about 46 in optimal sea conditions. Normally cruise at 32mph (28 knots) @ 3500rpms.

It's all in the operation and maintenance of the engines. Unfortunately many boat owners neglect their engines (as well as other parts) and don't do anything until something breaks or starts performing badly.

Keep a maintenance schedule, be proactive on engine care and operate the engines in a proper manner and there is no reason they can't accumulate many, many hours of good service.

2003.r 340 and I have around 650 hours on the 8.1 v drives. Salt water boat. Regular maintenance intervals observed. Runs well and consistent (I hope I din’t just jinx myself).

Right at 300 on a 2002 310DA. When the hours reach 310 I'm going to have a celebration. ok ok I'd celebrate if i got a hangnail....

650-ish on the 2003 320 DA t-6.2L Close Cooled
350-ish on the 2012 185 Sport 3.0L (Soon to be for sale)
580 on the 2014 Sea Fox 256 Commander CC 300 Yamaha Outboard

695 hrs, new to us Boat with the 5.0 ltr MPI, Bravo III drv
Before we bought in September, the marine mechanic who worked on this boat for PO, said in past he worked on commercial small craft in southern California for 15yrs before coming to Canada in 2005 and they would normally run merc small and big blocks up to 3000 hrs before rebuilding, or re-engine of commercial marine shuttles etc...use and maintenance is key

Starboard engine - 3700 Hours - 150 - 160 compression in all 8 cylinders...
Port Engine - 3500 Hours before I rebuilt it. - Bores were perfect, just needed a Valve Job and new cam.
- Mercruiser 454 Horizons

I had 2,400 hours on our 7.4's in a '95 330 when we sold it in 2011. Still ran strong, compression good, had no major issues with them. In salt water, just reg maintenance. It was a good set up.

725 hours on Mercury 454s and straight drives.

Closed cooling with the first half of its long life in salt water.

All’ Well so far.

2000 270 SD with 600 hours on my twin 4.3 V6's and still running strong. When I bought the boat I installed FWC and I'm hoping that helps with longevity. Manifolds and risers are the biggest maintenance cost.
