We are considering FlexiTeek 2G for the cockpit of our boat. The scrubbed teak style looks so much like real teak it’s hard to tell it apart without close inspection. Real teak was too expensive and the alternatives for our cockpit at this point are the vinyl weave “carpet” or Flexiteek 2G.

I understand the 2G is improved from the original Flexiteek product in terms of being lighter as well as significantly cooler in the sun. We have two Labrador retrievers who boat with us. How is the 2G in general and with scratching? Would appreciate input from anyone with the 2G Flexiteek.

Thanks

Hi Gary, I have the Flexiteek 2G, scrubbed Look. I posted some pictures on this thread.

im in my 4th season with it and it still looks brand new. Cleaning is very easy, I've never had to sand it or clean it aggressively. Anything but white fiberglass will get hot in the sun. When it does get hot I simply hose it down.
Thanks, your boat looks fantastic! We be using the same installer as you.
