410 Sundancer/Express Cruiser and 400 Sundancer/Express Cruiser **Official Thread**

Cheers to another gasser! EZ and I were feeling lonely on St. Clair!

There's definitely not very many of us out there. How you been Captain? You still at MacRay? I'm moving over there this season (Seabreeze #34). We can't leave out Midexp, he's one of us silly guys also and he's at MacRay. C'mon summer.

Has anyone fitted a new icemaker? I've seen plenty of discussions about replacing it with a fridge, but I want ice. The original unit has been a rock star for most of its life, but I think this past summer did it in. The t-stat was sticking, so several times I found it running nonstop for days. I considered a new stat and relay, but I think the compressor is tired and it doesn't owe me anything.

My Model 83 is 14w x 14.5d x 24h

The current models I've looked at measure 17d, but I think there's plenty of room...

They're 25 1/16th high though, and that would be a tough fit.

I guess I have to go to the much shorter models, and put it on some kind of base/pedestal?

...or buy a used one from someone who prefers a fridge?

I believe the U-Line in my 52 is the same as I had in the 2000 400DA. Both of them had/have a propensity to make one solid block of ice in the bucket which I disliked. So, I've been working to change the one in the 52 to a 70 pound/day clear ice maker. NotHerDecision is in the appliance business and has been a great help in my down-selection; you might want to PM him.

Thanks, I'll reach out to him.

FWIW, I think installing a machine that makes clear ice is a terrible idea. If there was such a machine anywhere in my marina, I'd sneak aboard every Thursday night and steal all their ice. Nothing ruins the aesthetic of a nice cocktail faster than cloudy ice.

:D

Is it this one?

Hi, if anyone is looking to sell a late 90’s early 2000’s 40 Sundancer or 410, I am in the market. Ive owned a 320 for 5 years and have an agreement to sell it. I have seen a few 400’s up and down the eastern seaboard on the usual sites. I live in NY, Long Island, looking for diesel engines, interior color is flexible, but I’m partial to the cherry. Not sure how far inland I can transport from, however, if you know someone or have one your looking to sell please give me a heads up. Thanks in advance.

KV, 400's are relatively transport friendly. They fit on a lowboy. Items on top of the arch should come off, but the arch itself can stay.

Wow! Pretty impressive. Have to think a bunch permits would be involved over any long distance.

No - I believe they were both model 95 Uline's

My thoughts exactly!

Huntington Beach to Seattle... Flag car in Calif. and 2 needed thru the Siskiyou Mountains, Oregon & Wash. just wide load signage on the tractor & trailer. Permits were the transports problem, I have no idea.

They’re great boats. You should be able to find one somewhere on the east coast that you can bring home on her own bottom. If you do transport over land, get prices for bringing it to Long Island and then get prices for dropping it in the water somewhere else like NJ, Ct. or up on the Hudson (depending where you buy) and then run her home from there. I made a few inquiries when I was shopping in 2016 and found that the price increased dramatically for transport across NYC.
Can you imagine pulling a trailer with a 410 on it over the BQE, crosstown, or over the Cross Bronx?
I got lucky and wound up finding mine in Northeast Ct. and running her around. Nice easy run.

Exactly what I had been thinking, laughing about the image of a hauler with a large boat on the bar. Figured posting here may open a few doors that aren’t visible elsewhere.

Ok guys, I give up on trying to search for this. I need to check my sending unit for the starboard fuel tank. Can anyone give me some pointers? I think there is access via the mid-stateroom. Is that right?

I know different boats, but I had to replace one of mine and it was located in aft stateroom in my side pocket cubbies. They really come further forward then I first thought. Good luck !

There is - if you look in that nook where is a access cutout. Remove the four screws and lift out the plug it is right there.

Better than the port side on the 410...in the most forward cabinet, down a 4" hole and aft from there. it was a BI-OTCH to get to.

Even worse than working inside doors on cars...ouch

Good luck.
