Official 320 Dancer Thread

So I pulled the trigger on the Lumitec Lights Defender had on sale. I am reaching out to my 320 peeps to see if anyone has installed these and do you have placement recommendations to make running the wiring less of a heartache?

The filler cushions are the seat back cushions. Starboard bottom and aft bottom.
Pull them out and put them down to make the bunk.

Well, that makes sense!

Is there a cushion that turns the rear cockpit seating into a bed/sun pad?

Interested in hearing the responses as well!

Where is this cushion located?
On my boat it was located down in the aft cabin under the stairs. Do not know if that is it “place” but that is where mine was. If you do not have yours and want one my boat is still at the canvas shop he also does seats. He could use mine as a pattern if you wish. Send me a PM if you are interested...

You need the cushion, and the table for the cockpit, that table is made to exact dimensions to fit in the grooves and support the filler cushion. If someone replaced your table, hopefully it was the exact same size. The table also has snaps that the filler cushion connects to with straps so the filler cushion doesn’t slide out.

I have the table which is stored in the ER. I don't believe there's ant snaps on it though

Should be 4 underneath the table (unless sea Ray doesn’t add them if the original owner does not purchase the cockpit filler). The filler then has 4 straps, 2 on each side, of about 6” long, that reach underneath the table and snap in to keep it in place. Honestly, Velcro under the table with straps on the filler would work better, the snaps get corroded and require maintenance.

I wasted a beautiful day yesterday and compounded/polished/waxed the boat. Should have waited for a crappy weather day. Here is a pic while I was frantically trying to remove the wax prior to the dry storage rack closing up for the day.

My favorite hull color of them all.

The wife made it a requirement, and I agree. She did not like the white 2000-2008 sea rays, the darker colors, blue and black, she really liked. This was the first red/maroon we had seen and she loved the color. She graduated from FSU (and so did daughter #1, and probably daughter #2), so of course, to her, this boat is garnet. Now she wants the boot stripe removed and replaced with a gold stripe, or a custom gold spear.

I believe they call that "Cinnabar"? Beautiful!

Took a look around the engine room today and noticed a pretty steady stream of clear liquid (likely water) dripping off the hose in the picture (I circled the leak). This is right beneath the starboard engine (v drive 350 magnum). I’m assuming this is a cooling hose for lake water to run through but would love some confirmation of that. Also, assuming this is the case, I’m guessing either the hose has a leak or it wasn’t attached to the pump correctly.

A few unknowns:
1. Any idea why this would be leaking water when the engine is off?
2. Secondly, somewhat related to all of this, is it ok for me to run the engine with the hatch lifted so I can see what’s happening?

You can run the engines with the hatch open no worries. We have done it with the computer hooked up and running down the river at WOT.

So we are making progress the cockpit cover is done and the camper canvas is done and everything is done on the flooring but the swim platform. I hope to get the boat moved to Charleston if the weather will straighten up later in the week.

It is most likely below the water line, so water can just siphon through. Not sure where it attaches. As with all hoses below the water line, it should be double hose clamped. Check all of the clamps. Also, does it stop if you close the sea cock to that engine. If so, leave closed and remove, inspect and re seat / replace the hose as needed.

Gents,

Looking for any ideas on why I've suddenly developed a whining from the starboard transmission.
It's a ZF 63 IV - 2.0
The weird thing is it only appears at idle and in forward. Increase the revs and it disappears and it doesn't happen in reverse.
The noise literally appeared over night - I dropped the boat off at the local marina to get the annual antifoul, Propspeed, etc. and when I collected it a couple of days later I heard the noise immediately as I motored away from the marina dock. I queried it with the guy who moved the boat to/from the slipway but he knew nothing about it. Sounds a bit suspect, I know, but I've known him for while and I do trust him so I doubt he has (or could!) have done anything catastrophic while moving the boat within the marina.

The boat was out of the water again recently and I had my mechanic check out the props/shafts/bearings and other than the starboard side having slightly more backlash than the port he couldn't see any issues.
The advice I'm getting ranges from "Keep an eye (ear?) on it" to "Just ignore it" , but it's driving me nuts and no doubt will be an issue when it comes time to sell. I want to know what it is and how to fix it!!

So . . . anyone had a similar problem or know anything about this ?

Thanks in advance,

Rob
