I am in need of the lower half of the shower drain assembly in the master shower on my 400DA. The Sea Ray part number for the whole assy is 196782. I've checked Flounder Pounder and Great Lakes Skipper with no luck. Anyone have any idea where to located this part?

Thanks,

Pete

Did you find an answer. I’m in the same boat (figuratively). Thanks!

I DID! I bought this from amazon which was an exact replacement to the original part on my drain.

Valterra T01-0091VP Swivel Drain Connector - 90°, 1-1/2" x 3/4"

and to make it easier to install I bought this to adapt the hose to the part, I did have to shrink some heat shrink over the barbs to make it large enough to fit the hose, but it's not under pressure and doesn't leak.

Anderson Metals Brass Garden Hose Swivel Fitting, Connector, 3/4" Barb x 3/4" Female Hose

If the links above don't work, just search amazon for those parts.

Hope this Helps.

Good Luck,

Pete

Thanks here as well.

Mine broke because the old stiff hose would not come off the barb it was on and someone, not naming anyone in particular here, pulled to hard and broke it.

I am trying to replace the drain fixture. I got the part off of amazon but I’m having a tough time getting the drain to turn. I assumed a normal drain wrench was the was to go. Since it sounds like you have been here. Any words of wisdom before I get a bigger wrench and a cheater bar?

Do I need to try to get under the drain to remove it or just back away. Thanks very much for your help!

I took mine apart with channel lock pliers. It wasn't hard to turn. The new part came with a plastic nut which I only had to hand tighten. The original part was metal and I suppose that yours could be corroded together. See if you can get up and spray the threads with PB Blaster or Kroil and let it sit for a couple days. That's the only thing I can think of. Might want to take some pictures of it with your phone and see if you can see what you are up against.

Good Luck,

Pete

Thanks Pete!

On mine the there is a hole in the bottom of the shower and the strainer and drain are one piece with a flange that is threaded on the outside. The drain is placed into the hole in the shower pan (with sealant) and then a nut install from underneath the shower and tightened up against the bottom of the shower pan thus holding the drain in place. A plastic elbow with a rubber gasket and another nut attach to the bottom of the drain on the same threads that were used to install the drain in the shower pan. That elbow attaches to the drain hose that runs to the sump box. So yes, in my case I had to do all the work under the drain.

I believe that is the way mine is set up.

I tried everything under the sun on one of mine. I finally took a dremel tool with a cutting disc and cut through the nut from below. Then I could spread it enough to remove it. Major pain!

SR used gobs of clear silicone to seal things. That did not help removal either. I used plumber's putty when I went back and no issues...

Thanks for sharing all these experiences. Had I not had the benefit, I would have broke this thing for sure.

I have toyed with the idea of replacing mine. It is corroded looking. I can’t believe you fit your arm up all the way up there from the center hatch! Am I missing something?

Nope....on our 44DB, that was the only way to get to them. 2-full heads...one drain in the vanity floor, and one in the shower....save yourself the time and trouble and go ahead and take a Dremel or other tool and cut them off....
