500/520 DB official thread

I would like to have all the HW pumps on an additional alarm panel I’m just looking for a good looking descret panel.
I agree the sump is not perfect if mine gets clogged the water squeezes out the seams Argh.
The systems monitor on my 52 does not work and the display is currently removed. So, I'm looking into alternant solutions; right now I'm talking to the folks at Chetco Digital on their Seagauge G2 converter and their 5.7 inch touch screen display. We are working the NMEA 2000 PGN's for all of the Sea Ray Systems Monitor input devices as well as quite a few more. Once I sort all through that I'll make some decisions.... Also looked at the Albatross Albacombi NMEA 2000 converter however the Seagauge G2 is more adaptable. We are working through an audible alarm through one of the device's output relays that can be cancelled via a touch screen command. The boat is getting a complete NMEA 2000 backbone installed so this system will camp on that. If you are interested I can keep my progress updated here...

Tom, since mine has never been reliable what other info is on the systems monitor I’ve only seen bilge pump info?
Yes please keep us in the loop. Thanks

As i mentioned earlier, I replaced the sump and sump pump, and i'm very happy with the solution. If you like I can post more details and photos...we just arrived in Victoria BC. Yesterday we had to turn back due to heavy seas.

Joe,

I believe these are most of them:

All bilge pumps
Eng. ign.
Generator ign. ( buzzes on shutdown)
Engine oil psi
Engine temp.
Exhaust temp.
Transmission temp.

Wow thinking about it I did see the generator on ours but none of the others it’s an antiquated system Using coax cable so it may be time to tie everything into the NMEA2K backbone we have already as Tom is working on.
Thanks Steve.

See below drawings (need to look at both of them as not all of the systems monitor inputs are used:

I've said this before...it's great to know a "Steely-eyed Missile Man"!!!

Thanks Tom!

I am looking to change the stainless hydronic hoses on my swim platform. They are not leaking but just plain nasty looking. I’ve tried to clean but I just want them new. Anyone know the lengths or where these can be purchased from? Also I assume the system would need to be bled out after changing them out correct? This is the factory platform and I believe it’s GHS? That sound correct?

BTW. All the electronics upgrades are looking great! Hopefully my summer project!

You can get the hoses directly from GHS. I believe you only need to purge the new lines until oil comes out but maybe that's what you meant by bleeding the system. You can get instructions for most any maintenance activity on the lift from the Owners Manual. If you don't have yours you can download it off their site.

I had 2 of the hoses replaced last year. The notes from the yard state they used HYDRAULICHOSE 15" and 20" hoses.

REPLACE PORT SIDE LOCK DOWN LATCH AND A HOSE ON STBD
SIDE // ENDED UP REPLACING 2 HOSES ON STBD RAM, (1) 15" FROM TOP OF RAM TO
MANIFOLD & (1) 20" HOSE FROM LOCK DOWN SOLENOID TO MANIFOLD

I had one with a pin hole leak. Just measured it, called Rick at GHS (855-791-0128) and a replacement was on the way the next day...

I replaced it and ran the lift up and down twice to bleed it...

Anybody recall hose price? I'm sure it's cheaper to have them made but more hassle. I'd like to carry a spare or two.

They were pricy - $80 each for the 27” ones. I bet they are cheaper to have made at a hydraulic shop.
