Great idea on this thread.

Nobody has ever tried to remove this cabinet?

On both sides of this cabinet is where I keep pens, pencils, and anything small I don’t want any longer .
Seriously I bet of you remove the drawer it’s mounted to the floor inside the cabinet.

The issue is how to remove the drawers.....

They don’t have the little tabs that the other cabinets do to release the glides

One other quick comment on EGT. I have to believe the entering water temperature of where you’re running the boat has some impact on your boats EGT.

90% of our boating is in the Chesapeake Bay and further South as were in Key West for the winter again. I suspect guys further North and in the Great Lakes might well have lower EGT because of the much cooler entering water and therefore closer to the lower 900 EGT than Southern boaters.

Obviously you Northern guys are already in the barn for the winter but would be nice to see some entering water temperatures provided with your EGT next summer or now if you might have some info from this past summer. Certainly 60 EWT has to have an impact on EGT ?

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to all!

I ordered most of the new Garmin gear a few days ago, during West Marine's triple points event. 12% back!!!

Now I have to figure out what modifications are needed for the dash to accommodate the new Garmin units.

I got the Axioms mounted and everything else installed and mounted as well. Still working on the some the networking. I can’t install the new gps antenna till spring because I can’t get on the top of the hardtop till the shrink wrap comes off. The Axiom XL 16s fit but just barely. The code right to the edge of the trim piece they are mounted to. It is nice to use up all the space available.
Don’t mind the mess. Still in the middle of working on everything.

Looks great -- so did you cut holes in the trim piece and mount to it? I think the Garmins are a tad shorter than the old Raymarines, so I might need a new trim piece.

would be great to see photos of the work in progress.

The cut out for the new axioms are a bit wider so I had to cut the openings in the trim and dash behind it larger about 1/2” on sides and 3/4” on top. I left the bottom at the position it was.

Here is a pic before I mounted the screens.

Wow, not a lot of the dash left. I guess that works as long as there is enough on the top and bottom to hold the MFDs in place.

Jeremy it does look great I was afraid to remove the fiberglass that supported the middle of the helm I was going to mount the screens closer together but couldn’t.

Question did someone remove the Sea Ray monitor on your boat and just install high bilge water alarm indicator?
Mine doesn’t work anyway so this maybe on the list .

I was concerned with taking too much material out too but I think there is still plenty of support as long as no one is sitting on the top of the helm for too long.
I don’t think there was ever a system monitor installed. The high water panel looks factory from the underside. That is fine with me. To many problems with the system monitor.

Jeremy could you take a pic of the bilge alarm I’d like to discard my system monitor if I could.

Here you go. If you need more specific pics of the wiring let me know.

My boat did not come with the SeaRay system monitor.

Thanks. I guess they stopped using the monitor by 2010 ?
I want to add a visual /audible alarm in our stateroom as we’re planning on spending the winters on her full time and would like an alert while sleeping. The HW alarm goes off at the helm but it’s impossible to hear that while not at the helm.

You make a good point, That’s not a bad idea. It would be easy to do with the bilge pumps not too far aft if the staterooms. All you need is a light panel panel and buzzer wired off the high water float switch. That would work independently from the system monitor system.

Mine is quite loud. The original gray water sump had a leak, and when the bilge pump under the washing machine went off, you could the alarm in the cabins.

I did replace the gray water sump with a Whale sump and pump, which in 1000% better than the originals.

I would like to have all the HW pumps on an additional alarm panel I’m just looking for a good looking descret panel.
I agree the sump is not perfect if mine gets clogged the water squeezes out the seams Argh.
