Twin Mercruiser 350 cu. in. inboards
Hello! I found this club after doing online searches for Sea Ray parts and repairs. Seems the place to be for knowledgeable advice. I've been boating for twenty some years in northeast Ohio. All of my boats have been trailerable, the reason being storage costs and I do like to tinker with my boat year round, weather permitting. This year I picked up a 1988 Weekender 300 with twin 350 inboards. Had it slipped in Sandusky and had fun tinkering with it all summer long. She needs a lot of TLC to bring her back, but the basics are there and she is seaworthy. I am a professional diesel mechanic by trade, but I love the water, so boating is my hobby, along with Lionel trains and camping. I hope I can be a contributor to this club in the future. Joe

Welcome to the group. There is a group of us with the old 300's that are in the Classic Fourm.

Welcome to the site. There is a Great Lakes section of this forum with a bunch of us from the Sandusky - Catawba Island area.

I will. I replaced the starboard motor last summer. Yes, between two trees.20180503_170313.jpg 20180426_174048.jpg lol

New camper top installed. Top Gun material. Very pleased with the results! Next year will be the side and back panels.

Welcome.
The 300 Weekenders and Sundancer from that era are awesome boats.

Thanks JVM, I've had a few boats before her, and one of my favorites was an '84 Amberjack. I told myself, "If only the cabin had a booth style table where we can play cards", and wouldn't you know, this 300 came up. Both boats have huge cockpits, comfortable helms, and a great ride. I'm finding the twin inboards on the 300 WE to be a little overwhelming at docks. I did install a rudder indicator which has helped a lot. Practice, practice.
