Hello,

Currently have a M1 Tracvision on my 2008 330DA. Since I don't have Direct TV it's basically useless, so I'm wondering if anyone else has converted from Satellite to a Digital Antenna? I have some ideas as to try and do this, but maybe someone has done this and can give me some pointers. Thanks as always for any help.

The older boats came with a Glomex antenna for the TV. I'm assuming from your post that yours didn't. You can always add one or you can get a cheap (~$30 a month) subscription and use your satellite dish. I know that they allow you to suspend service 6 of the 12 months per year. Hope that helps.

Thanks and my boat only came with the M1 Tracvision. When we used to spend weekends on the boat paying monthly made sense, however now we only use the TV when on long trips it doesn't make sense. I did buy a digital antenna and my hope is to somehow use the current cable to the M1 and just move it over to the Digital antenna. We'll see how it goes.

I know some people have done that in the reverse, so I dont see why it wouldn't work for you!

The coax used for you Tracvision will work for a regular antenna. Make sure you TVs are digital or you wont get a picture without a converter, which are pretty hard to find now.

Maybe consider installing an A/B switch in case you ever want to go back to Satellite, or switch between both.
